    Dear audioz boyz,
suddenly, and for no reason, the EXS24 Sampler in Logic has lost its connection with the samples.

As you can see from the photos, when I open an 'Instrument' EXS, no longer recognizes the path towards the instrument and the samples that compose it.

I looked on the net but nobody found a solution to this problem.
Hundreds of unusable songs. Can anyone help me?

    Thanks for the attention.

    Yo!
So where are your samples stored? On an external, I would hope?
Have you changed the Read permission on that drive, or any folders on that drive?
And what happens if you click on 'Search Again"? Will you not be able to re-see where they are, and reset the path?
I mean, unless you've deleted them...

Everything is on Macintosh HD (.esx and sample files).
If I click 'Search again' nothing happens and the window returns

You mean your samples are on the same drive as your OS? wow.
Just as a side-note, it's been standard for the last 20 years to record to an external scratch disc i.e. never your OS drive that's dealing with Logic. And obviously now too we can store all Logic samples externally. (Although most of us were doing that with a SymLink prior to it becoming a Logic feature.)
It means your HD is just dealing with OS and Logic.
I'm wondering if the fact you are still on HD is the reason why this is happening. How old is the drive?

When you click "Search Again", it doesn't let you manually search, but can't find it again itself and just ceases?
What version of Logic are you on please, and what OS?

There will be a reason! And it happened before what seemed to be "suddenly" to you.
It's either that you or someone has deleted the sample files or changed permissions on a folder,
or that your HD is failing.
Of course, you haven't recently changed to a newer version of Logic from an old one. Eh?
Because then it wouldn't be "suddenly, and for no reason". Just checking!

    Thanks for reply...

    It's a 2016 iMac.

However I have always worked like this (the drive is a bit slow, it's true ) and I have never had problems, until 2 days ago.
On the other hand, all the samples from Apple (.caf) work and are installed, during the direct download from the sound updates, right on the MacintoshHD by Apple itself.

That's right, when I click "Search again" it doesn't allow me to search manually. When I click on "Ignore" it goes into the ESX, I can see the name of the .esx but the sounds are not there (ad show the photo above).
    I'm on Sierra 10.12.6 and LogicPX 10.4.2

I'm on same OS, and 10.4.4
So when did you update to 10.4.2? Or rather, are you saying that this didn't occur directly after an upate?
It's interesting; Logic 10.4.2 is the one where moving samples to an external drive became a feature...
I'm wondering what else you could have done 2 days ago, but we'll work it out.
This is obviously not a nice situation for you.

Can you see your samples in the folder? In Library/Application Support/Logic/EXS Factory Samples?

edit: ooo I just thought, can you do a rescan, up in the EXS prefs?
I'll have to boot up and check myself!

I've updated to 10.4.2 years ago.
Yes, physically the samples.aif .wav etc. are all there.
It is the link that binds them to ESX that broke (as in the photo above)
Oh... in doubt I also reinstalled Logic but Nothing :snuffy:
