This doesn't make any sense. False claims? Bullshit marketing?
I see no advantage to USB 3 for audio when we barely even use the bandwidth of USB 2. Oversampling? it has to be a software implementation and most plugins already have the option. Loopback? takes only a few seconds to route the master output to a channel. Latency? it has nothing to do with extra bandwidth. :dunno:

    hey all!

im the one started this thread, just wanted to report back on this:

still nothing new from native instruments, absolutely horrible, never going to get an interface from them ever again as long as im on windows, and i would recommend you to do the same if anyone thinking of getting this interface and on windows - simply dont.

as for what i switched over to - the SPL Crimson 3, and wow what an interface!

i hate to brag and talk about products that i own cus i feel like its corny, but i really have to.

everyone recommended RME here, and i used their interfaces over friends and colleagues and liked it but it was really just out of what i was looking to spend on an interface.

so i got the interface on a small sale here at around $727, and man this interface has so many features and great converters and clean pre amps, very powerful headphone amp (super easily pushing my 670 ohm open back audio techinca R70x).

the drivers are reliable so far in the past month+ and has control on: usb buffer, sample rate, buffer size, and even has a preset selection for quick changes for your needs, which let you change all parameters quickly at once (buffer size, sample rate and usb buffer)

i feel like the interface is quiet underrated as i havent seen too much info on it online, or review-wise but wanted to jump back in this thread and let you know about it in case someone in the future might come across this

    My experience:

    Yamaha/Steinberg 9/10
    Presonus 8/10

    Again:
Presonus Quantum, one of the fastest and most stable audio interface in the world for Windows

If you buy Quantum 2626 you don't need an adapter.

Crimson user since V1. Agree with everything you said. I love the Phonitor Matrix in the Crimson 3. Indeed, in the A room we have gone from RME to currently Crane Song but have kept the Crimson in the B room. You can't go wrong with it.

I'm having a weird issue with the Quantum. When I boot up it shows an error and must be physically unplugged and replugged to be recognized. I know the pc is supposed to have its thunderbolt scan on boot enabled. Other than that it's fantastic.

go through and examine BIOS settings, with recent Windows 10 changes, operating system power management often clashes with BIOS power management, so you can try disabling various power saving settings or just entire power management in BIOS completely, could help..

RME #1 in stability and also latency, very good sound, best resale value.
MOTU #2 in driver stability, good latency too, very good sound, good resale value
UAD #3 in stability, mediocre latency, very good resale value, expensive though and the mobile interfaces get very hot.
M-Audio #4 in stability, so and so latency, mediocre to poor build materials depending which one you buy, mediocre to good sound.
Steinberg/Yamaha #5 in stability, mediocre to bad latency, mediocre sound unless you buy their new flagship model.
Audient #6 in stability , mediocre latency, very good sound., good resale value, robust build.
I can go on and on for all but it would be a bit pointless, ask me if you like a particular interface, most of them have gone through my hands :)
Focusrite, Lexicon and Presonus are known to have written shite drivers in the past, i have encountered many stability problems with some of their USB interfaces. Also Lexicon, despite the name, has brought out some of the worse made plasticy interfaces lol. Supposedly Focusrite and Presonus have fixed their drivers in the 2 recent years and i admit to haven't had any probs with their newer interfaces but still have mediocre to bad in latency.
    Cheers :D

sounds like a security error. Try no security in the thunderbolt bios settings

you are obviously talking about the usb interfaces. It's 2020 and that means thunderbolt. Presonus thunderbolt drivers is one of the fastest in the world.

I had nothing but headaches with Focusrite window drivers for the 1st generation Scarlett units. They lost me as a customer because of it. A few months back I purchased the IK Multimedia Axe I/O interface. The Window driver has been rock solid here! I highly recommend it.

Your're right. The only real downside of (Yamaha-) Steinbergs UR44 ASIO driver is that it is not multi-client.

I used to use motu, had a traveller. the drivers weren't great with windows. firewire in windows has been pretty worthless to me. got a focusrite 18i20 when they first came out, gen1, and it was sweet for a couple years. Then it just suddenly stopped working thru usb. got an RME UFX. the angels Literally sang. light came down from the sky, and jesus wept. It works. the routing options are better than anything I've seen elsewhere. NI, FR, MOTU, Creative w KX drivers. Nothing compares. the RME drivers are SOlid. Even when my computer crashes from whatever else goes wrong, Fireface keeps on truckin. Now I pipe in my 18i20 thru ADAT, and pipe 8 channels of compressors thru a tango24 into ADAT2. 2 more channels of comps thru SPDIF. If I'm recording elsewhere I leave the compressors at home and use ADAT2 to pipe in my MOTU 8pre for 8 Mics with pads and 48v. Long story short, I can run 10 channels of comp inserts, 12 mic pres (6 with 48v), 8 line ins, 6 sends, stereo monitors, and 3 separate headphones mixes out 4 separate headphones jacks (the 18i20 mirrors it's phones outs with line out 7/8 the way I got it set up).
It does this all without hiccuping, popping, or arguing, with a latency below 6ms in n out. I haven't tried making it any faster. I am a happy camper. RME pretty much rules. Highly recommend watching a tutorial for totalmix, though.

I had RME UCX, babyface pro, Madiface... I never had a problem. Now I have ID44 and everything still works and sounds great.

Im gonna double down on the Steiny Interfaces, i have not had one issue with my UR 242 its rock solid and as far as bang for the buck. goes it cant be beat. i Had a MOTU Ultralite mk2 before this and the drives were garbage and this is at 3 times the price. if money is no object then. yeah get an RME but if you only have so much cash defo go steinberg
