If you are only interested in the result i totally agree.. but in this case i was more interested in the process.
And it sure is a bit of a stretch, but lets say you don't have your delay or any calculator and you want to know the dotted 16th delay for a tempo of 145 bpm? It would take you quite some time to come up with a result i guess but i know now that 45s / 145 would be the 8th dotted delay so it would be half of that.. without even using a calculator.. 45s / 145 is something like 0.31s so that would mean the result will be very close to 155 ms i would suspect..

yeah this is handy I agree , I use this conversion alot so its efficient for me to just open this calculator all the time and I thought it could be helpful for anyone who didnt know it exists

I see how you're looking at it now- it's sort of a "are you in the train or on the platform" perspective issue...

Yes it is.. I think it is nice if you can reduce it to one operation .. it is more efficient.. if you know these three rules or the 3 numbers (45,30,20) you can calculate all of it on the fly.. if you want the "4th delays" just double each of the time values before you divide it by the bpm, if you want 16th just divide it by two, which both is rather easy .. the hardest part would be to divide 45/2 for the 16th dotted delay, but i guess all other numbers are even and tile easily.. 32th dotted would be even more "nasty", but i can't remember ever using that .. and then again 22.5 and 11.25 are not too hard to get to either.
Plus, you can always calculate the 8th delay you need and multiply or divide by 2, 4, 8 or whatever to reach the other results as well so you don't have to worry about these numbers at all

There are other interesting things as well.. if you have a 8th triplet delay and you add a 16th triplet delay to the delay time you will end up with a 8th delay because 20 + 10 = 30 all these operations work.. i have no idea if that is useful, but from a math point of view it is valid. it could be interesting to put fills in spaces that will end up on the whole note and sound somehow rhythmically correct.
