Imagination rests at the root of all creativity and art, without it and a high degree of intelligence we would never have witnessed a 13 year old Stevie Wonder having a #1 hit record called Fingertips, or a Jodie Foster just nailing her roles in The Little Girl Who Lived Down The Lane, Taxi Driver and Bugsy Malone also at age 13. Innate talent, hard work, love of your art and especially adults in your corner, even if they're in it to solely make a buck off of you, that can make a lane to showcase a youngster's special ability are all at play here. Billy Eilsh might crash and burn or switch direction and persue other endeavors other than music (what I have seen in the way of new work leaves me a bit empty truthfully, like that Bond theme song), but I don't understand how folks can dump on her as talentless. That's not an opinion based on reality but probably of a cauldron of other personal factors unrelated to her voice, actual lyrics and her quality of output so far. I can't listen to the band Rush, deal with Kraftwerk for more than 2 minutes or sit through a Vivaldi opera, but that doesn't mean that they suck, to the contrary, by any standard all three are fantastic but I don't have to like them to see that they are.

  2. I bet there were no haters complaining about 17 year old Judy Garland singing "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" in 1939.

What was she trying to teach you in particular, nobody else, but you, complete? It seems as if she and millions of other people are standing in solidarity against the evil shit that goes down daily and which has certainly been in the US and around the world for thousands of years. And in this vein, what do you have to teach "us". What is your solution to combat bigotry, violence and oppression?

Allright Lois, you got me there.

Nothing. I don't have a solution and I don't pretend to have one.
You are right, I shouldn't have use the term "us". I speak for myself, but there might be a very few that may think like me in this case. That would be "us" then. It's very difficult.

Hm, true. When I'm looking at her Instagram content, it wasn't aimed at me in particular. So when a celeb makes a statement on their social media account, they do it for themselves? I read the postings or look at the pics, media etc. but I'm not the right recipient?
Actually not a single post on any social media ever posted, was teaching me in particular, anything.
So let's say 90% of the social media content is aimed at nobody in particular. What a waste.

That's absolutely fine. I know it's about the structural racism, that grew over decades.
In context to BLM, I often hear the phrase "white privilege". I assume the way Billie could make it to the top, is based on white privilege. Her parents were actors and musicians and she enjoyed home schooling. Well that's not her fault, but nevertheless that is where she comes from.
From a person of her status, I expect more than making some postings on social media.

To come to an end, here's a little something about myself.
I'm an old white dude, living in a rural area. When I was young, I loved kung fu movies and I liked the
idea of the monks to shave their heads in humbleness to divinity. You don't need hair to feed your vanity.
I started early to shave my head, too. Well to bad I'm German and soon I became a Nazi. No, not for real, but the people like to see me like this. What else can be the statement I try to make?
I have so much fun to walk through a multicultural city.
Are the people have the right to see me as a Nazi?
I think so, that is what the Germans are famous for, right? Ok I exaggerated again, not all the Germans, but me.
This was written with a grain of salt.

    Cheers

Although I'm a metalhead, I first listened to her in August and quickly became a big fan. Since than I'm listening to her songs everyday, sometimes I feel like a 14 year old girl but what the hell
What a beautiful voice and great compositions!

Don't care for her image (in fact I kind of dislike it) but she's a great harmonizer, her voice's timbre is captivating, and her bro's production is very ear grabbing. I really do think the evidence we have more or less proves that she is an industry plant but what the heck... They're actually putting out good music; at least her full length album and the couple of singles released since then. Everything before that was pretty unremarkable in my opinion.

It's nuts that she's got a whole documentary made about her though. She's been on Apple's payroll for years. They're really pushing her ultra hard.

  16. I kid you not....I was having a dream about her just before I woke up this morning. You know the sort of dream I'm talking about guys. And I've gotta tell you I've changed my mind about her. I am now so devoted to her. Does she make music too?

She's sexy and that's more than enough. In pop world, females' faces and bodies are always more important than their music.

Actual the one tuturial i watched, where she did a track with Fiscal, it was actual quite good what she sung, also what he told, how both came up with the track. Thats talent i guess and she got talent from waht i heard ...

Lets see if shes able to stay relevant, which is maybe very hard today, way easier 20 years ago or even way earlier ...

I stopped long time ago to actual hate or whatever, maybe im turning old and just get wiser? :guru::dunno:
