Hello there! I am looking to buy a monitor for the center channel of a surround setup (two A77X on the front, two Focal Alpha 50 on the back). Would prefer a A3X or T5V series from Adam, or another Focal Alpha 50, for esthetic ( :
What do you think?

 

Is it a good option to have different kinds of monitors? All of them have different eq curves.
I am not experienced in surround setup thou.

 

Yes, what you say makes sense but I only use the surround monitors for listening and panning, the actual mixing of the tracks being made on the stereo A77X and then double checked with the Alpha 50

 

I guess it's not the answer you wanna hear, but for proper surround setup, especially for mixing surround, you should have 5 same monitors if possible,

anyway, with your current setup, I'd probably pick some coaxial monitor, which you could eventually use also for mono mix check, perhaps consider Tannoy Gold 7, it's around your price range..
