Why do you want Ozone 4? It's more than likely that Jaycen has updated this preset many times. Ozone 4 is not available for mac anymore because most likely it wont work on newer mac OS's. Ozone 4 got released in 2009. Good luck trying to install it on any newer mac, if you find it. Just use Ozone 10 and copy these settings if you really want them.

I manage to install OZ4 in catalina but to be sincere the whole concept of that template it will change your beat
drastically, but have phun trying it. maybe you can do something!

Honestly, really appreciate Jaycen Joshua's work, but the whole concept behind his template is EQ -> Saturation -> Multiband Dynamics -> Stereo Imaging -> Limiter.

Of course you can do the whole thing with ozone, but it doesnt have to be the 4, and it doesnt have to be ozone. The same effect can be archieved with only a saturator of your taste, fabfilter pro-mb/McDSP/C4/etc, fabfilter pro-q (mid side mode), and a limiter of your taste. Maybe you can even do it better if you don't relly on the template

 

You guys need to remember something when learning with the pros: those dudes have weird fetiches related to plugins. It's nice to understand the concept but you don't need to use the same dild... plugins they use.

 

How did you find it tho?

 

Tbh I feel like you could just rebuild the preset with newer versions of Ozone or other equivalent plugins with equal or less effort than trying to get a frankly ancient plugin up and running. Just my opinion tho

 

I agree with Riddim,
one can replicate the same FX Chain with external plugs.

And most of the time, you can find better quality effects,
or differently oriented alternatives than what Oz4 gives you..


Still tho, I cannot deny Oz4's capabilities.

I've got Ozone 4, 5 and 9:
the only one I use is Oz 4..

Granted I only use the Exciter, Maximizer and Imager,
the first two having been considerably changed or improved over the years.


But yeah, you know what,
Oz4 has a special sound of its own.. it does!

And that's why psychos like Jaycen or myself still use it,
and keep it on a special drawer on our desks

an ARM Mac (m1+) would present a problem. Otherwise many of these older plugins are very easy to install on Intel Macs, nothing but simple mouse clicks to codesign and force validation in Logic.

exactly mannnnnn. I only took his philosophy, he uses the rcomp attack 48ms and release .5 to make the kick shorter, we can achieve that with another comp. You are totally right!
