The CH9 Ibanez Stereo Chorus is a great one for guitar and keyboards IRL.

But for inside the box, I like TAL Chorus LX and D16 Syntorus 2

Omg thanks I posted smth on a different thread today and was gonna create a post on the specific matter of Chorus.

It's the only kind of VST effects that I'm not happy with - TAL and Syntorus 2 (I usually like D16 products but this one is weird) sound cheap to my ears, they're more like quick gadgets than real analog-like, professional sound design tools.

I'm mainly looking for use on synths in electronic music btw. I can't afford UAD unfortunately, shame because their plugins look good.

Do I have no choice but to buy a real chorus pedal - Boss, Electro-Harmonix, TC Electronic?

I've got the dimension D and Boss CE both from UAD. Plus the chorus on the old CS.
Nothing compares or is as good. The only exception for me is Eventide's harmonizer.
Come to think of it, i don't think i've ever used any other chorus except these 4 in a song.

No wait. There was a plug called clone ensemble once. It was green, thats all i remember.
:rofl:Must have been a while back.......can't remember the company name.

I have a few other of SKnote plugins, Verbtone2 which I use on certain vocals, STA-limit which I don't really use any more and Disto which is good to to maim a drum buss with. I'll give the DDD a shot on your recommendation...workflow be damned.

Yup, Verbtone barely moves the CPU needle And I too like the first version of Disto more so than the newer iteration (which was a free upgrade). To my aged, wartorn ears it sounds better and the worlkflow is much more to my liking. I just purchased the DDD but it's time for bed, so any testing will be on the flipside at sunrise.

I forgot to mention the Neve like distortion plugin from SKnote that I also have called Marconi which lends a fine saturation to any signal. Me like.

I listened some demos on Youtube and I love this sound.

On the software side I forgot the Voxengo CRTIV chorus.Great.

I was on the journey vst chorus some time ago.
It ended with the already mentioned bluecat audio chorus and Voxengo CRTIV Chorus. Sounds really nice and is available on the sister site for try before buy needs.

Sound so cheap like the free TAL and Syntorus 2 is weird, I gave up.

Moving on to more expensive stuff like Eventide and Boss.

    MicroShift is also real nice.

Holy moly, that sucker takes not one, but two 9 bolt batteries. I have an old Westone Thunder electric guitar that needs two batteries, but it puts out 29 dB of boost in conjunction with it's active EQ and gain switch employed. Must be a powerful push somewhere along it's analog circuitry.

Yes it's unusual as far as I know,it needs a 18 Volts power supply to run,and not the standard 9 Volts. But I think it's worth the two batteries,it sounds rich and deep!
