but how do i know if i am the publisher or not
for example if i sell music on audiojungle.......is audiojungle the publisher, so therefore i don't need the publishing account?

Audiojungle is a distributor, like spotify or retail stores selling CDs.

 

So if audiojungle sells my music to a client.....and they put it on TV.....

NOW in Canada (SOCAN) its split 50/50 50 for writers 50 for publishing
so yes they are correct you may write with many people but you dont have to give them publishing
you share the 50 writers with them
that portion is called 100 percecent writers so 10 writers get 10 percent each Same as publishing 10 publishing compaines 10 percent each
both are defined seperately So yes set up a writers account and a publishing account and ask for equal writers and publishing when working with a partner THATS FAIR so no one feels ripped off and are responsible for there own SHIT hope this helps
