Alternatively, use Inkscape. It is an open source, 100% free, legit option that rivals Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw etc. which cost you money. Availabe from https://inkscape.org/

You need to use pencil in Paint. Set size You want (excluding last the thickest one). Left mouse click & hold without moving then press & hold Shift and drag mouse to make straight line. If You want thicker line repeat process under with contact to the first line. If You thicker the line and don't fit to the first one You can use select tool and cut on both sides.

You need something with vector graphics, as mentioned Corel draw will help. The important part, is whatever you use must be vector not bitmapped.

Paint, Photoshop, Gimp etc. are the programs for graphic processing based on pixels.
*.JPG, *.PNG etc. are image format based on pixels.
This is called a raster graphics.
In raster graphics when You zooming unregular lines always has some aliasing.
You can trick this even in Paint and use only single pixels to fill out straight line without unregular surface like I mention before.

Other type of graphic is vector graphics.
Programs in vector graphics are Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, Inkscape etc.
In vector graphics everything is based on vectors and is scalable without any limits until is saved as program project or vectors format such as *.SVG, *.EPS, *.PDF etc.
When You make something in vectors and then export and saved as a bitmap (png, jpg etc.) it will be have aliasing on unregular surfaces too because it's based on pixels and doesn't matter which one was before. Now as a bitmap is a raster graphics.

    Roject,

yes i want to basically be able to use the picture in reaper for a video

i used INKSCAPE just now......and managed to do everything correct.....

but when i export i want the background to be transparent and i export as PNG...

And then the lines get messed up again!

anyone knows how to fix this? thanks!

Yes, enlarge vector project to big size dimensions and export to bitmap. The larger the size of bitmap, the smaller aliasing from distant view but if too big can be too sharp on the edges.

Export your images as *.EMF or *.WMF formats. These formats are for vectorized shapes.

You can also use this tool for capturing and saving the clipboard's contents as *.EMF or *.WMF formats:
