    Hi Guys,

i got Superior Drummer and the basic core library from the sistersite and i just can't seem to get it working under Catalina.

I was able to install Superior Dummer, but i can't install the library because the installer doesn't start. Is there a solution?

I tried copying the Contents folder manually and that doesn't work either.

All i get is this message when i open SD3:

I've downloaded "Toontrack Superior Drummer 3 SDX Core Basic Sound Library WiN/OSX" but since I have macOS Catalina it's impossible to install. That's because Mac installer is a 32 bit application but only 64 bit is accepted in this OS!
Can you suggest me what I can do to solve this? Is there somewhere a new compatible version? Or maybe... is some kind of manual installation possible? Or is it possible to install the library on Windows, then copy manually all the files and folders in macOS?

Manually merge all Sound Library contents so that the main root folder "SL-SuperiorDrummer3" contains all necessary files.

Update library the same way, just replace. Ending up like this https://ibb.co/R46gKHj (Windows example)

Then get the Superior.Drummer.v3.1.7 for mac and add your library path.

Working fine in Catalina and Tested in Logic Pro X, other daws should be ok too. Make sure you codesign the AU plugin, then reboot.

    In Terminal:
    sudo codesign -f -s - /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/Superior\ Drummer\ 3.component
    -------------------------------------------------------
    also try
    sudo xattr -c /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/Superior Drummer 3.component
then and then code sign again.

Thank you so much, finally I've added the sound library... but I can't here it, nothing at all!

As you can see here (https://ibb.co/qBdn5Pn) in the RAM usage the loaded value stays on 0, with a "total" value (I suppose it's the total value that needs to be loaded, referred to the actual drum settings) of only 48 MB. Trying to quit and open SD3 again, sometimes I read loaded 4 and total 4... it doesn't make sense at all!

About the update, I've used only "Toontrack Superior Drummer 3 Sound Library Update v1.1.3 MAC". It would be necessary to put files from previous update too or is this one pretty enough?

Last but not least, a question about something different: I'm looking for the SD3 core MIDI library too, do you know where I can find it?

Toontrack Superior Drummer 3 Sound Library Update v1.1.3 MAC should be fine.
The SD3 core MIDI library you can get it from sister site released as "Toontrack Superior Drummer 3 Core MiDi 100 V1.0.0 WiN/MAC".
You dont hear any sounds because the sounds are not loaded properly. Ramkit Usage should show 1011 MB. Seems like you dont have all the sounds merged. Whats your "SL-SuperiorDrummer3" folder size?

Ok, it's my fault! I was in too much of a hurry and I've copied and pasted all the stuff of the update all together: I didn't realised that the Sounds folder has been totally replaced instead of adding new files only! Thank you, I've redone everything (correctly) and now it's working perfectly!!!

Looking deeper on the sister site I've found the core MIDI library too!

    STEP 1 See Below
    1. Install Superior Drummer 3 software (v3.1.7)
    2. Merge all Sound content to a folder, Any where is fine as long as you have space (Basic 32.62 GB or Total if additional mic/bleeds 205 GB)
    3. Update the Superior Drummer 3 Sound Library Update v1.1.3 or newer if available
    4. Install Superior Drummer 3 Core MiDi 100 V1.0.0
    5. code sign the AU plugin
    6. Reboot
    7. Open Superior Drummer 3 and add Library path (point to your sound content folder you created at no 2)

    STEP 2 See Below
    1. Select Drum kit and wait for it to load
    2. Once loaded increase volume and start banging your midi controller for Drum sounds.

    :)

@demha ok I got my sound banks working! Im using SD3 in Logic as plugin. But I still have few problems:

    1. I have my own midi database and I would like to see it in Grooves section. Unfortunately when I choose path in settings it says there are no ezx or midi EZdrummer files even the folder has lots of midi's
    2. The performance when I play midi track in Logic and work in SD3 window (with image of whole drums) is starting to becoming very slow. So slow that it starts to missing sounds like kicks snares etc. I have quite good MacBook Pro 2020 with i7, 16gb etc, this should happen
    3. I ddidint code sign the AU plugin, what is this for?

    1. a) Your path to midi can be anywhere you place the main midi folder but the default folder is /Library/Application Support/EZDrummer/MIDI
Note: If you want a custom folder location you must move the whole main "MIDI" folder from the default location above to anywhere you please then you choose the path in the settings.
    b) This is for your own custom midis: Two ways to do it. Put your midi files either in
    i) "/Users/"User Name"/Music/EZdrummer/User MIDI" (then Sync file changes under User Libraries in the Grooves tab) OR

ii a) Create 2 folders called "240000@_Others" and "240001@Third_Party" at the location
"/Library/Application Support/EZDrummer/Midi" (and put your own midis in the "240001@Third_Party" folder here)
    b) Restoring/Updating the midi database to recognise the custom folders: just delete the large "MidiDB" file in these locations
    EZD2 - /Users/"User Name"/Library/Application Support/Toontrack/EZdrummer
    SD3 - /Users/"User Name"/Library/Application Support/Toontrack/Superior3
Finally open SD3 and goto grooves tab there you will see a new folder called "Third Party" in orange with a warning symbol, click and add to database.

    2. SD3 libaries is quite large in size, should load faster if its located in a fast internal/external ssd. And for midi playing performace it actually depends on your audio interface.

    3. This disables the codesign check on logic pro plug-ins, sometimes it needs to be code signed for it to work correctly.
Some thirdparty usually AU plugins usually dont work or crashes in Logic pro if it does not have the correct certified signature.

@demha thank you but the speed is very slow. I have very good audio interface and I downloaded only 32gb of sounds. Do you have good source of EZ drummer? its less complex but maybe will run faster

Do a manual install of the core midi. Open the dmg and goto Contents\
Select and copy the midi folder and then create a folder "EZDrummer" at
    /Library/Application Support/
and paste the MIDI folder here.
So it will finally be /Library/Application Support/EZDrummer/Midi
Then add path and check with superior drummer for the midis. If you do see the default midis then just follow previous steps for your own custom midis.

Remember, it doesnt matter if you have or dont have EZdrummer, the midis are usually stored in that folder even for SD3.

If the above doesnt work then......
Can you send me the screenshot of the following folder content on your mac:
    A screenshot of "/Library/Application Support/EZDrummer/MIDI" path
A sceenshot of the "No midi library found" from the groove tab of SD3 interface.
    Screen shot of "/Users/"User Name"/Library/Application Support/Toontrack/EZdrummer"
    Screenshot of "/Users/"User Name"/Library/Application Support/Toontrack/Superior3"

Mac has 2 different "Application Support" folder locations. Confirm if its the right one.
    /Users/admin/Library/Application Support/Toontrack
    /Library/Application Support/Toontrack
Send it so i can check and see whats actually wrong.

@demha I did everything and it still doesn't work. I only have one path to applications support by library (user folder doesn't have application support)

I tried to restore midi database in sd3 settings and reload sd3 aswell

When I try to add path in SD3 settings I don't have access to Library (only common folders like Desktop, Documents, Apps etc)
