One which i find my frequently using is EQ-73 from Ik Multimedia, either for Gain boosting or tone shifting or adding crisp warm Top-end or even saturation. 9.5/10

I find myself using H-EQ by Waves a lot due to the different eq curves variations, True Iron by Kazrong, Fabfilter plugins, MixCentric by Waves.

Kontakt, any EQ, and a metronome. Usually makes 90% of my music. The rest depends on the song

Fabfilter Pro-Q3, Pro-L2, Pro-C2, Saturn 1/2, Kontakt, Halion (but use it not enough), BBE Tremor, Valhalla Room, Nicky Romero or VolumeShaper, Sylenth1, Dune 3, RAW, Serum, Spire, RAW-kick, Dominator, DBX waves, Trash 2, I end up using Cubase compressors & distortion also, whatever works best.

This question is difficult to answer seriously because it is so general.

Maybe it would be better to divide it into something like instruments / mixing / mastering.
But even then you will only get unspecific answers for such an unspecific question.
If you ask this way In the end, it is of no use for you to know which plugins others use, plugins you don't know how to use or plugins that are not suited for your purposes.

It would make more sense to describe as exactly as possible what you want to do musically, your knowledge and experience. This way members can give you a hint which plugins support you best in this goal.

I think I'll have to re-read the rules before I can answer.

if you just scroogle around a bit with some search engines you'll find whatever you heart desires and more...except things outside the digital domain.

Effects = Fabfilter (Pro Q, L, MB), Soundtoys (many of them...), Waves (Maxbass, Renaissance and H series), Kush (for mastering), Sonible (Smart Comp and EQ), Slate Digital (Virtual mix rack, Virtual tape machine), Valhalla (all), Eventide and Lexicon (reverbs), Audio Damage (Kombinat, Eos), Wavesfactory (Trackspacer), Sugarbytes (Effectrix), Overloud (TH-U), D-16 Group (Repeater and a few others), Ableton (Utility, OTT) and recently TBProAudio (you know why lol), Izotope (Ozone, Tonal Balance in my master bus) and Celemony, Antares (vocals)... oh and Denise (Perfect Room). I like Plugin Alliance a lot too.

Instruments: Kontakt, Serum, Massive, Avenger, Omnisphere, Spire, Musiclab (guitars), Ableton Racks (drums) and Sampler

these are the plugins you will find in my projects but I use many more, depends on what i'm looking for

REC: all UAD unison pre (Neve 88RS, Neve 1073, SSL) + UAD LA2A Silver

PRODUCTION/SOUND DESIGN : all the stuff I have!! I think that if a vst has even one good sound, it is worth having it in the arsenal. But the best of the best are:
Serum, Massive/Massive X/Pigments/Avenger for new modern wavetables synth, all Arturia stuff for old school sounds, UHE Diva, Omnisphere, Spire, Sylenth1, Nexus, ANA2. Kontakt 6 libraries, SD3 and Addictive Drums 2 for drums, Keyscape, I like IK ModoBass but if it's possible we rec real bass, GR5 and Amplitube for GT amp ( but UAD with Unison are great with real GT ), Symphobia 1/2 for orchestral stuff, Faw SubLab for modern synth basses. I like Arcade and Scaler. Then 2TB of sample libraries ;)

I'm a professional Mix Engineer and sometimes I make also the Mastering >>>
EQ for corrections: FabFilter Pro Q3, UAD Cambridge EQ ( yes the old one! ) and DMG Equilibrium

EQ for adding freq/color/character: ALL UAD stuff! Incredible sound, SSL for drums, Neve stuff for vocal and synth, Harrison 32c, Helios 69 ( the old one ), Pultec. Then some Acustica Audio plugin like Ultramarine 4 EQs or Taupe Eq.

DEESSER: manual de-essing in the audio clip!!! Then Soothe2 (best plugin of the last 3 years), Gullfoss, FabFilter Pro DS/MB

COMP: another world.. UAD 1176 collection (Rev A n°1 on vocals), LA2a coll, Fatso, Fairchild 670, EL Arousor (incredible sound), Soundtoys DevilLock , sometimes AA El Rey or Waves stuff like Rcomp, Raxx, always Rvox (first vocal comp 100% of the time), Waves SSL ch strip if I don't have enough UA dsp. In BUSS comp I use UAD API 2500 80% of the time, sometimes UAD Zener limiter or Fairchild 670 or Shadow Hill or Neve 33609 or AA Tan comp ( it depends from the sound I want ).

FILTER: Harrison 32c, Cytomic The Drop, SugarBites WOW2, Arturia filters. I think filtering is one of the most important things in mixing.

REVERB: UAD verbs are best sounding verbs on the market (Lex 480L n°1, Lex 224, EMT 140, Capitol Chambers and AMS are incredible). The only verbs no UA I use are Valhalla and Softube TSAR1, especially Valhalla Vintage Verb, great sound! Sometimes D16 Toraverb or Waves Trueverb in sound design.

DELAY: Valhalla Delay and Soundtoys Echoboy are best of the best. Sometimes NI Replika XT, Waves H-Delay, UAD Galaxy NI GR5 Psychedelay (great on guitars!), Cubase stock delay

SATURATION: UAD Thermionic Culture Vulture is the best distortion ITB, imho... also Vertigo VSM3 is great! Then UAD Ampex-Raw-Oxide-610 pre, Soundtoys Decapitator and DevilLock, Black Box HG2, cubase stock QuadraFuzz (great sound), D16 Redoptor and FabFilter Saturn 2. I use also UAD comp as color unit, without compression.

MODULATION-SPATIAL-PITCH: cubase stock plugin! Then UAD studio chorus D, Soundtoys stuff, Unfiltered Audio stuff, Output Portal, D16 Godfazer, Xfer LFOtool and Nicky Romero Kickstart, Izotope VocalSynth, Waves S1, Brauer Motion, Doubler, Torque and Tune Real TIme. Antares Autotune 9 (but for real pitch correction, the best is manual editing with Melodyne). Sometimes cubase stock VariAudio. For transient manipulation I use cubase stock Envelope multiband.

TRIM: Req and Waves NLS channel :):) I mix with all faders at unity gain.

BUSS-MASTER: it's a very personal setup! Each song has its own master chain, but in the last year I have studied one that works very well on most productions. And there are some amazing plugins nowadays to create the final tone, like UAD Sonnox Inflator, Gullfoss and Acustica Audio Color EQ 3!! best of the best EQ plugin for master channel. However I always use UAD API 2500 and Massive Passive, FabFilter Pro Q3 for side lowcut, general low/hicut and little corrections. Then for limiting I prefer 3 limiters in series, first Ozone maximizer, then the good old UAD Precision Limiter, and the final FabFIlter Pro L2 (best sounding thanks to the choice of different algorithms).

  21. You sir, come well equipped for a Newbie. I applaud your thorough stock take of your preferred arsenal of weapons and I concur. I use maybe 90% of the same plugins and those that I don't, I will be considering on a job I'm doing tomorrow.
