Is there a way to record midi without it being affected by tempo? I have to record some keyboards on top of a song that has too many changes in tempo and and time signature, i want to just record it, and i dont have a keyboard to donit by audio just a midi controler...any ideas?

    ??
Yes, just turn off the metronome, ignore the tempo setting of your DAW or whatever, and play. Not sure I understand the question.

what i meant was, when i record a song, the midi has its own tempo assing to the track if i export the midi it stays in the tempo that was recorded and dont fit the song

Record it, get everything in the right time and consolidate the midi pattern without exporting it

Ah- I know how I would approach that in Cakewalk but I don't know what you use...

Not sure about the question, but the easiest way is to ignore daw tempo and grid snap, is more or less like recording on analog tape, playing along the existing track.

You can analyze the song and most DAWs will automate tempo track to the fluctuating/rubato tempo of the song (like most songs recorded live or without the use of click). That is, if you still want to use the grid/snap/tempo.

You can ofc automate manually, both the tempo and the time signature changes.

Othwewise you just ignore the grid (and metronom) and go by ear.
