Hi all,

Please forgive me. Not intending to rehash Om2 issues. However, since moving VSTi Library to new SSD install I have lost Omnisphere 2 (not 2.5) authorization. I literally replaced a Maxtor 7200 with SSD HD and kept all the drive letters/paths/locations the same. The program and STEAM folders are all intact as far as I can tell.

To my horror I have lost the initial install files of the original Omni 2. I hope to avoid having to redownload that huge torrent (and Keyscape)... I have tried deleting/moving/readding Audio16.dat and restarting etc but no joy. Also tried refreshed shortcut to STEAM folder. No luck.

Has anyone ever had this issue and know a fix?

The one thing I will tell you is that unfortunately you will have to redownload and install again and just save the files to another drive just in case this happens again. Sorry bro.

Pirate has explained 1000 times how to reactivate without new installation. Use search and read it.

 

I've read many so far and still working through it all. Is there a "sticky" on it you can point me too?
I guess this query is frustrating to many if I'm repeating but just so I'm clear, I do no have any of the original install Files or Patches or Keygens so does that fix you mention not require any of them?

Ignore. I re downloaded just the Keygen and fixed it. Thanks again for confirm Isaac.

Yes and next time you do a OS upgrade or buy a new computer etc etc save all the content aka the steam folder on a disc install latest Omnisphere plugin and skip the rest and activate it with the keygen that means of course patch all dll aswell not just the plugin

 

for all future questions abt the issue: u need 3 steps to transfer to any other PC/Windows Computer:

1. This complete FOLDER : C:\ProgramData\Spectrasonics (hidden folder!) with all inside (small, abt ~200MB or less].
Inside there is a STEAM.lnk which connects to the STEAM FOLDER (adapt path, if you change the location of the Steamfolder)

2. the DLL File of Omni in the VSTPLUGINS Folder (very small abt ~60MB or less]

3. AND finally the STEAM Folder with all "Sounds" (HUGE, abt 60-90GB)

and then the keygen to patch DLL of course to repatch it (with full adminrights!)

Btw: nothing on my PC is hidden for me, i use programs to reveal all folders, so i a am not castrated like the usual WINDOWS MAC OS user.
And i know how to manipulate Folders to make them writeprotected or NOT!

ok, ok, ... I know The Pirate has explained 1000 times how to reactivate without new installation ... but I have read all of your posts about Omnisphere and I cannot find step by step instructions for my problem.

I am building a new Windows PC.

I currently have:
Omnisphere 2.6.2c
Omnisphere Soundsources v2.6.1c
Omnisphere Patches v2.6.1c
Keyscape Soundsources v1.0.2
Keyscape Patches v1.3c
Keyscape Creative Patches v1.1c

I have already made a copy to an external disk of:

C: \ ProgramData \ Spectrasonics (137MB)
D: \ ProgramData \ Spectrasonics \ STEAM (154 GB)
VstPlugins (Omnisphere.dll 53MB and Keyscape.dll 29MB)
Spectrasonics KG

Next week, when the new PC is ready, what is the procedure to adopt?

just do what i said in my Post . Patch the DLLs on your desktop and copy them over in the usual VSTplugins folder and also inside C:\ProgramData\Spectrasonics\plug-ins\64bit for standalone Omni Keyscape
i don t use 32 Bit plugins!
Keep in mind, the files must be writable, if you wanna patch them. Most directories/subdirectories are not writable.
So either know how to make them writable or use the workaround with patching from the Windows "desktop",
and later REPLACE the ones in VSTplugins .

 

sorry for the insistence but should i copy the folders you indicated to an equivalent location on the new PC and then install update 2.6.3c and then patch the DLL's?

 

yes, u cant change the C:\ProgramData\Spectrasonics path
anything else yes, but adapt the LNK file
updating means u add a new DLL to vstpugins and C:\ProgramData\Spectrasonics\plug-ins\64bit

Do u know how i learned it? I tried, and didnt ask anyone. Thats how u learn, Trial and Error and repeat over and over

 

BTW i only updated Omni soundsources. I am on WIN and PC, it seems the latest updates relate to MAC OS only, so i wont change my DLLs now.
