FX - Impacts Vs explosions? Same thing?

    Some FX manufacturers say impacts others explosions..

    not sure if its the same sound they're going for?

    Impact can be something hitting on something. let's say a car crash is considered impact. Explosions on the other hand are.... well , explosions. But yes the line between these two get's blurred by the manufacturers
