I’m I interested in getting some studio monitors and hearing great things about Eves, but I'm not sure what to get.

So the tabla and the santoor will be what's in all of our music. It's going to be more acoustic (e.g. just us or us with a string quartet), but we do get contemporary projects like hip hop, pop, etc (just not
as often).
Below is a link to a video of my studio space (excuse the mess). It's 14'x28'. It's a live performance space, rehearsal space, and recording space. Treatment along all the walls and ceiling is 4" thick panels. The speakers will be approx 5’ apart and the listening position is about 3ft back.

FOCAL, no doubt. Focal is a driver manufacturer (one of the few) and they know all abt optimizing drive units.

 

That’s a good point. I’m leaning towards the shape twins. Have you heard any eves?

 

There are only very few real driver manufacturers (f.i. DYNAUDIO or FOCAL) who also build Studio Monitors and are successful for more than 30 years now in High End AUDIO, all the others buy some cheap China Driveunits and make fools out of you "customers".

 

Yes, that fact, among others, has lead me to pull the trigger on focal shape twins. Just waiting for them to arrive

 

Get Hedd Type 07.. beats them all. Didn't like the twins at all compared to Hedd.

 

That's a pretty ridiculous statement. There are many other manufacturers that makes great monitors.

 

Just to update everyone. I was able to get a great deal on the shape twins and i love them. Coming from hsm50m the difference is night and day. I burned them in and have done a couple of mixes on them. I just set up sonarworks 4 last night and that seems to enhance them even more. Thanks to everyone for their input.
