Go on sistersite and listen to the latest Sylenth1 presets by UNDRGRND, isn't it sounding like Kraftwerky 70s and 80s modular synths? Even software VA digital synths may sound to vintagey.

 

Have you tried Waldorf Largo ? It's E-licenser-based, but I think there is a R2R release.
You press one key, and you immediately get that thickness, that fatness, that pure analog sound, that makes the difference between a normal vst instrument and a 'special' one. At the same time, those incredible 'juicy', 'silky', 'buttery' filters send you to a different galaxy !

Another vst instrument that should give you goosebumps and tears of joy, with the same incredible analog- sounding oscs and filters, whether you press a C6 note, or a super low note , is the FxPansion Strobe 2, or eventually, Fxpansion Cypher 2.
These 3 babies should insta put a smile on your face.

Modular, Arp2600, Jup8, SEM, CS-80, buchla easel, rarely mini. Additionally, not main. Even if they are not identical emulations or copies, but they not so digital sounding, you can achieve some fat and warm sound. Who knows what i used in this or that mix.

 

Synapse The Legend is the only non uHe that is at their level imho. I've noticed Harmor also creates very high quality sound but does not emulate anything.

 

I recommend other u-he's synth like ACE, Repro-1, Bazille... but I suppose you already know them so try NI Super-8. Those are my preferred.
