i'm looking a good source to understand most popular sounds in EDM like supersaws etc...

is there any such thing? the presets from synths sometimes have too weird names etc

i'm just looking for the most important kind of sounds like supersaws

 

Supersaws are stacked and detuned/unisoned saw waves.

Not sure where to find an EDM dictionary. One would think there ought to be one if one Googled "EDM dictionary".

 

Understanding producer lingo really just takes time and practice. I recommend watching videos and participating in music production communities to learn more.

I strongly recommend watching zenworld youtube channel. He's got a lot of genre's covered in his videos about edm and he is fun to watch.

 

biggest tip i can personally give is to learn to ditch using "EDM" , and focus on genres and sub genres .

things like supersaw , reese/reece/hoover , drop , go a lot farther back than the coined "edm" that tends to on surface level be genres like trap, popular midrange dubstep , mainroom, etc
