I've frequented the sister site and other places for decades now to try before I buy. I appreciate both the developers who create the software and the teams that crack it so I can test it, see if it's worth my hard-earned money and if it does, I gladly buy it.

I was excited to break the bank and splurge on a DAW and a software bundle that was on a lovely special this week. I could take the financial hit and gladly take care of it paying the whole thing back in 6 months, no one the wiser. I made the mistake of using a third-party to get it instead of buying it directly. I've made three purchases with them in the past with no issues. Ordered the download versions, so no excuse for COVID-19 shipping delays and all that. Three days pass and the order was still 'processing' because according to the third-party, they haven't got word from the software manufacturers. I called on their bullshit since the software manufacturers are up, running, processing, and delivering orders. Canceled the order and the charges. Fuck these guys. I guess I can wait until the next time both are at affordable prices.

In the meantime, I'll try before I buy. Thanks for reading. Now carry on, feel free to share similar horror stories, and don't forget to tip your waitress. I'll be down at the bar.

There are certainly some companies with such convoluted registration schemes and limited installs (cough cough Spectrasonics) that even if you own their stuff legit it's arguably wise to have an extra copy and a keygen around...

You can get some good deals from these other sellers, but they can also be a nightmare as you've found.
I used to buy all my VSL stuff from one, until a similar 3 day wait. Now I just buy direct during their sales. It's a shame as you build loyalty points etc on these other sites.
