I think OPX *sounds* amazing, but the interface is horrendous...

If the Arturia is good and doesn't sound dead like most of their analog modelled stuff, the interface alone will be a big improvement...

 

that's a big if.

 

I wanna know how it compares to OB-XD which is free.

Ahh... Donationware-like.
But i read now a post by 2DaT about his original synth emulation (before discodsp rerelease), that it is not full emulation, partly only. Can be found on kvr forum, first post. Maybe further updates led to some emulation improvements, enhancements...dontknow

 

Guys wait for Synapse Audio's OB-Xa emulation. Beta testers on kvr are raving about it. These guys really raised the benchmark with their "Legend" synth when it comes to hardware emulation.

fwiw (which isn't much) oberheims are my favorite synths. i thought the free ob-xd did a wonderful job of emulating the hardware.

 

It's not doing it for me unfortunately. Waiting for Synapse's effort.

The UI in the vid is ugly imo but the sound is what matters to me ultimately. Also, I find the layout strange but whatever.

I really hope Behringer does a good job because I prefer hardware whenever possible. It sure looks nice imo. Now if they can get the firmware done already.



Plus I hear rumors of poly-aftertouch keys.
