Can you guys give me a list of known 'volume preserving EQ's'. I just read about the concept of it and would love to try it out. Quite handy in some situations don't you think?

With a equalizer you change the volume of specific frequencies. So you are missing the point of what a EQ is if you ask that.

 

Visualize a trio playing tunes on a cello, a viola and a violin.
If you tell the viola player to go home, how can you preserve the same overall volume when there is a missing player?
You can tell the others to play louder, but the viola player will still be missing...

I don't think GlissEQ is what you're looking for. It seems like a transient designer combined with EQ.

What you might be looking for instead, is a EQ with AGC , such as http://www.meldaproduction.com/plugins/product.php?id=MEqualizerLinearPhase . AGC compensates for the overall volume change to eliminate the "louder sounds better" factor. There are downsides to AGC aswel. Most of MP's other VSTs http://www.meldaproduction.com/plugins/effects.php , they have a few other EQs aswel .

GlissEQ is a dynamic Eq ,try it, is not only a transient designer combined with EQ.

if your problem is this Why does an EQ, even when you do a cut, make the signal peak higher than the dry signal?

It's quite simple to explain.

These EQ's keep the same volume level out as it came in !

When you lift or cut frequencies, you increase or decrease volume.
Make sense ??? It should...!!!

well, I tried Crysonic Anuna and I find it very very aggressive...
I don't know exactly what I mean, but it's really aggressive...

a suggestion? stay on normal EQs, there are many that work like a charm

try PSP equalizers, for example, top of the top...
