Hi, I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem.

Instead of M4L device GUIs being rendered correctly in their box in the instrument rack, they are being rendered above and larger M4L devices are zoomed in and only partially visible.

The problem occurs on Live Suite 10.1.3, 10.1.6 and 10.1.9, but not on 10.0.6 (after reinstallation of old version), on Windows 8. Other VSTs seem to render normally and no issues with loading times etc. I use the sister site versions as I'm poor and on a pension (yeah, yeah...).
Edit - 10.1.0 works as well, suggesting the problem is in Max for live 8.1, which was introduced in version 10.1.2.

    Settings/things tried:
I have a Dell 2560x1440 screen, 150% graphics scaling is applied in the windows settings.
Turned the computer off and on again.
High DPI scaling is disabled for Live, run as administrator is enabled.
Reinstalled latest graphics driver. (desktop PC with single video card)
Installed Max, configured Max application in settings (though I'm pretty sure this only applies to actually editing the device), tested, then uninstalled Max and tested again. (have previously had Max 7 and Live 9 installed too)

Has anyone else experienced this problem or have any ideas?

Why install M4L, its bundled with suite?
why is high dpi turned off?
try normal widows scaling and 150% ableton scaling

Never had this problem sorry but max was updated in 10.1.9 but i wasnt aware of an update around 10.0.6. But ive incrementally updated each time and this has never occurred for me

That is the (MS) windows scaling that I have disabled. I am using the scaling inside Live itself, adjusting the scaling in Live doesn't actually solve the problem, though it does scale the M4L devices differently to the rest of Ableton Live.

Installing M4L was probably a waste of time.

That is a good idea for me to test incrementally. I'm going to try the versions from 10.1.0 onwards to see where the bug was introduced, though I suspect it was version 10.1.2

    10.1.0 worked perfectly.

Still have this problem with 10.1.13/10.1.14/10.1.15
Using windows DPI scaling, the M4L devices render in their correct place, but of course Live is rather blurry. So I think the problem is that the disabiling of High DPI scaling (windows setting) is applying to Live itself, but no longer applying correctly to M4L devices. I also suspect this is a Windows 7/8 specific problem.

I don't understand how the Max application is called within Live, so I don't know whether there is any sort of registry tweak to force disable windows DPI scaling for Max. I have tried changing the properties of the various Max*.exe (in resources folder) to disable windows DPI scaling, with no effect.

The M4L devices in Ableton Live 11 seem to display correctly, so the issue seems to be moot now!

haha i have exactly the same problem. all M4L devices are displayed 1/3 over teh actual part, where they should be displayed and they are like zoomed in, so part of the GUI is missing. (global ableton zoom does not change this)
tried 10.1.30, 10.1.35 - all version 11 version do not have this problem. (internal Max version is 8.1.11, the last version!)

updated internal Max version from Live 11 Beta, same problem, version 10 still shows this fucked up Max4Live guis.

Found the culprit, its DPI Scaling in windows 8.1, which Ableton handles in v9,v10 alone, but Windows forces it own handling on Ableton. This is fixed for v11.
In windows 10, you can deactivate it, in windows 8.1 you can select it, but it does not work.

Solution seems to work on Live 11, for win 8.1.
