Safe. I can go on with my life.
Not saying a lot of things haven't been done wrong. But if we try to prevent every potential threat there's simply no resources, no matter how bad or less bad the governments and big players of the world run it.

I am not afraid of radiation.
It is for .. for my hairdo.

But it is nice that I won't have to worry about the radiation affecting my hairdo.

there are various think tanks and groups whose job it is to "imagine" such scenarios and make counter plans for this.
I believe there was one such recent exercise about a global pandemic so that various governments could see if they were prepared and what they would need to do. great shame of it is that in the current situation various governments became a bit too indecisive and Im surprised that they didnt consider the behaviour of third party states in making it worse.

as for the "facebook" it was known for a long long time about the risk of social media. the MOD warned myself and others working on their behalf in the "defence" industry to be very careful around social media because we could become a target for espionage due to the stuff we were working on..

Decades ago, I read a book by Stanislav Lem about such phonomena, called "Über außersinnliche Wahrnehmung" (1987), originally "Essays part 2". It explains a lot about coincidences and how we always are trying again to interprete them as mystical events, though they are completely explainable by simply statistics. Actually, he mocks people about their often silly behavior (as he often does in his science fiction stories), and also debunks some fake claims.
It is interesting that educational literature like his, after more than 30 years, is essential necessary to keep people from falling back into mystifying, I wonder if it even helps, since often people are disappointed when confronted with the logical approach, and tend to stay with the supernatural, disbelieving to the rational explanation - arguing that it is a false claim by certain manipulators.

Just a tiny observation: The MOD looked to me in the first second like GOD :woot::)

  7. We are born with an amazing ability to recognise patterns. A baby knows it's mothers face from birth. This behaviour stays with us throughout our lives and it often has unexpected results like seeing Jesus in a stain on wallpaper. We give these patterns greater importance than they warrant. With an infinite number of personal perceptions confronting 7 billion people as they absorb an infinite amount of information every second of every day, is it any wonder that events overlap and seem to have purpose. Add to that the sharing of these "coincidences" on social media and it becomes unsettling and sometimes dangerous when these incidents become "alternate facts"

This is only partially true since nobody knows his/hers current health status. You can feel very well and healthy while your body is actually fighting an infection or otherwise growing a disease.
Asbestos, for instance, can reside in your lungs for decades unnoticed, until it begins to affect your lungs and even cause cancer. The mechanisms are not very well explored though we built things with this material for a very long time. As a precaution we spent billions to remove it from our environment (though it's stll used in some areas). But It could be a factor that supports the virus though a patient has no pre-existing condition.
The problem with Covid-19 is, that from some point of development it is exceptional dangerous and deadly - it suffocates people very fast (not like the normal flu). That produced a lot of not so unsubstantiated fear.

This remembers me the movie "World War Z", which I watched again in a virus/catastrophes flick row recently.
It's Hollywood-style exaggerated but there's a cool example of this portrayed. Devil's advocate at its best.

It's very ambiguous, right? "Ministry Of Attack" would be more truthful and less prone to confusion.
