10 Plugins only

Discussion in 'Mixing and Mastering' started by shankar, May 7, 2020.

  1. You could say the same thing about almost every plugin synth if you just scroll through the presets. You need to put in some work if you're going to achieve the sound you have in your head, unless you don't have a sound in mind and you are being led by the menus as you scroll down.

    *sigh* ...people. :deep_facepalm:
I got PM pestered/called-out about the photo on my last post by someone who shall remain unnamed so, just to clear things up, that photo is not me (which I assumed people knew,) but is a photo of multi-Instrumentalist/MC, J-Zone, whose backyard looks pretty chill.
I'm cool, but not J-Zone cool.

90% of what I use Omnisphere for are the old pads from Atmosphere.

Oh Shit!! I had written my contribution then went in to edit. I must have got distracted, but how did I post it? Maybe my toddler?

    Well, here goes, again

    1. Reason Suite 11 Rack VST
    2. Air Vintage filter
    3. T-Racks Metering (not 1 haha)
    4. Voxengo Span
    5. Voxengo Vintage Verb.

Id be cool with those 5. I struggled to really think of any others I feel that are indespensable. So I could take or leave:

    6. Diva
    7.Toneboosters Reel Bus
    8. Tal Sampler
    9. NI Transient Master
    10. Fabfilter saturn

I understand the last 5 are probably seen as better the the preceeding 5, but I have used them forever (with the exeption of T-racks, and the Reason VST, where I have instead been using the DAW since v2). The second five are amazing i enjoy playing around with them, but i have a flow with the others and can compose without getting distracted, and I use Bitwigs powerful modulation environment, and just general awsomeness to doanything else i need or "improve" what i can do with the others.

No; no I don't. The term is a common amerikkkan colloquialism...but I think you knew that. :chilling:

You have some nerve, @tun , insinuating that musicians are too lazy to load their own....nah, I'm fkin' with you--ninety-eight percent of the time, musicians will shift the task of moving their equipment onto anyone or anything that happens to be in the general vicinity.

After wrestling with a mix that's bent on pissing me off, I'm switching out Wavesfactory Spectre (though it is a beautiful little saturator,) with Sound Radix's Pi--ya' gotta love the way it cleans up a mix, and with minimal CPU usage. :)

Klanghelm's DC8C and SDRR were contenders for me but, only ten plugins. Klanghelm's plugins all get honorable mentions, though.

What kind of super computer is one that accepts 10 plugs lol. Anyway i understand the question although phrasing was somehow hit and miss.
I only need 3 plugs bro. Kontakt, Omni and Superior 3.

    Haha I know.

To be honest, I have always been a fan of reason as we used v1 in college alongside pro tools and cubase back in th day. However, I now am honest with myself that had I invested in another DAW that handled vsts (or found the sister site when i was young and broke) my production skills and music would have been light years ahead of where it was up until a few years ago when i invested in Komplete and Maschine. It very obvious now.
