Hi Sexeres, hope this finds you all well, safe and creative.
I've just sucessfully installed 6.2.2 on my Macbook Pro running Catalina using the 5.6 stand alone to add libraries onto an external drive.

I have 3TB of Kontakt libraries on a 4tb Windows NTFS drive usually conneceted to my Windows Desktop.

I have managed to succesfully plug the drive into my Macbook Pro and transfer a selection of the libraries from the source (windows) drive to the Destination (mac jounaled) drive.

All the libraries sucesfully appear in Kontact 6.2.2 in both standalone and VST inside the DAW (After modifying the SNPID address in text edit.

A few of the libraries, Some Spitfire titles (not all) and Straylight give me an error message that says
"This instrument belongs to a library that is currently not installed"
Is there any way to fix this? I usually delete the origenal install files once they are on the drive, so I dont have the install files because I just keep adding to the 4TB drive (of which I have a cloned backup)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.. thanks.

Have you copy from your PC the Service Center folder and paste in your MAC?
Applications > Native Instruments > Service Center

Some details need to be clarified:
    - did you add the libraries individually with the 5.6.0 app then modifying the SNPID in .xml?
    - did those failing libraries run on your windows pc?

There are indeed some libraries that come with the installer and for a good reason, they need to be added by that installer. Those installers aren't even so huge, so keeping them is always recommended. I know, now it's too late.
I don't know if Spitfire libraries come with installer. There can be old libraries that didn't even come with .nicnt file, so there can be some home-made ones for those and in this case it's possible that their SNPID code can conflict with others.
But you will say that everything has just worked on your old windows pc, so the problem stays in the details, some step that you didn't explain us so far.

Hi guys thanks for your help. To be clear, my Windows PC is my current desktop Xeon production machine running Win10 isolated from the net.

Yes all the libraries that have failed run with the "not installed" message are tested and running perfectly on my current Windows 10 machine.

I have even rebuilt this LIbrary from the same 4tb external NTFS drive I had connected to my older i7 machine. In December last year I built a new Win 10 Xeon machine from scratch and added this same 4tb drive containing all my kontakt libraries using the Add libraries app and it worked perfectly.

I've made heaps of custom Libraries from my old sample collections and they all work fine on my windows machine. I'm quite obsessive about it and keep my templates realy organised using the add library scanner and the mamgament tools made available on the sister site.

The steps I have used on this fresh MacBook instalation are as follows:

    • Installed the latest 6.2.2 that installs 5.6.0 standalone
    • Coppied the Libraries from the NTFS windows drive to the Mac Jounaled drive
    • Added the Libraries using Kontakt 5.6.0
    • Checked SNPID addresses using Fred Bloggs wonderful SNPIDer and addressed any anamolies using text edit resulting in a functional list
    • Fired up 6.2.2 standalone and VST and the libraries appeared.

I Reinstalled Straylight to the copy location on my external mac drive with the installer kindly supplied by a member and it fixed Straylight.
Ony some of my Spitfire Libraries dont work. Albion, Albion 2, Berlin 1&2, Olafur Arnalds chamber evolutions ect... otheres work
Wish I would have kept those installers!!!..

OK much thanks Vanderveil..that Fixed it.

So here is how it works Kontakt 6.2.2 Catalina
    1. Install Kontakt 6.2.2 (use Batchmod for permissions)
    2. Plug the NTFS Windows drive into the Mac and Copy to the Mac Jounaled Loacation (mine was a Lacie Rugged)
    3. Copy the required Libraries over to the destination
    4. Add them with the add library function in Kontakt 5.6 Standalone (that installs bundled with the 6.22 install)
    5. Copy the XML file from the windows box.. program Files/Common Files/Native Instruments/Service Centre/ (the library you want.xml). I coppied them all to a folder in a thumb drive and stored them on the mac if I want to add more in the future.
    6. Replace the Mac XML file created in service centre by adding the library with Kontakt 5.6, with the windows XML ~/library/application support/native instruments/service centre
    7. All Done!!

It would be interesting to compare the two xml files (the one that Kontakt mac version created vs the one from the working Windows version) of any of the failed libraries. Whether the difference is only in a ID code line (not SNPID) or some additional lines.
