Hey all new PT user and first post here. I have PT 12.5 working with voicemeeter and I can record tracks and whatnot, but I'd like to use the Slate Digital plugins. I have the 64 and x86 versions in C:\Program Files\VSTPlugins folder and wrapped with transvst but they don't appear to actually show up in PT. They might just be really old versions I suppose.

I can see Avid_Pro_Tools_HD_12.5.0.395_Portable\Data\%Program Files Common%\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins\Virtual Mix Rack.aaxplugin\Contents\x64 folder with the .aaxplugin inside but I don't see it on the insert menu inside a track in ProTools.

Am I just making a stupid mistake here? Thanks for any advice or links sent along!

Anyone? Even general plug-in support or a redownload link or anything?

not sure if related, but i remember some SLATE audioutopia cracked plugins would simply not work and were rbuggy. I had to uninstall those. i dont think they were ever fixed.

Non-legit. I wasn't aware they were completely unusuable. Any suggestion for an alternative?

Why aren't you using Blue Cat Patchwork or DDMf? You can just load the VST versions (assuming those work okay on your system) into the shell and run them hassle-free inside of PT. I'm on a Mac, so there's a metric shit-ton of plugs that don't run inside of PT, but run just fine inside of a Patchwork shell. Just remember to set Patchwork to its "shell" preset to get rid of all the stuff you don't need, unless you want to run a rack or something inside of one insert.

Once i'm in front of my pc, i'll send you the aax files, that works directly with Pro Tools without the need to use any kind of 3rd party wrapper.

All you need is the latest release by AU.

@MrLyannMusic I agree. I remember cursing (krak'd) Slate Vitual Mix at some point for not showing up in Pro Tools though don't recall what "version" that was. I since have a 2016 AudioUtopia release however working great as AAX. Let me PM OP also.

Please refrain from posting these kind of claims, ALL AU releases do WORK, and i had 0 problem using any of their releases...
Without him we wouldn't have access to all these iLok plugins we're getting today.

@Kuroi Kaze pm sent mate, enjoy.

Thanks @MrLyannMusic and @Aileron for working with me on this. I have just tried installing Aileron's link and I opened up a project, created a new track, and on that track when to inserts A-E and still don't show anything. Is there an extra step or something involved when using portable version as the install went to C:\ProgramData but I'm running the Portable from my D drive. I'm not even sure how to view what plugins PT 12.5 can "see" and has loaded. I am really new to understanding this so sorry if I'm asking stupid questions.

Running a portable PT 12.5? Mmm... beats me beyond this point. Anyhow I suppose a so-called "re-scan" of your plugins would be your first step, removing first your current preferences settings and letting Pro Tools get its act together, finding newly installed stuff on restart. Normally (emphasis) PT preferences are installed here:
C:\Users\*YourName*\AppData\Roaming\Avid\Pro Tools where you'd find a couple of files named something containing "prefs". I'd remove those (backup before you do), fire up Pro Tools and and opt "Yes" when PT asks whether to re-scan all plugins. However, since you say you are running a non-install version of Pro Tools, I'm not even sure the above applies.
Go to your inbox for my PM.

    @Aileron I removed Pro Tools Prefs.ptp Portable\Data\%AppData%\Avid\Pro Tools\ folder.
It lost my old projects (no big deal) so I know it definitely did something but I was not prompted for a plug-in rescan. The only other prefs file is DSI prefs which I did not remove.

Mmm... you can remove stuff without purging completely... did you delete your projects and vacuumed the trash bin?

[EDIT] P.S. you may store your projects anywhere you like, starting Pro Tools from a project will tell it where to look the next time you choose "Open.." from within the program (top left).

Anyway check the solution I propose by PM.

I did not remove my projects folder or anything, I'm going to give that new install a shot and see how that goes.

I want to give an emphatic thanks to @Aileron for all his help. I've got ProTools/VMR running so I can continue my audio education! I'm sure this is just the start of the questions I'll have but thanks again to everyone who contributed their time!
