Tone2 Dev Apologizes for Past Business Practices

I admit that i made misstakes in the past when the company was still young. I apologize for it and I have learned from it. I fixed and changed things - many of them already years ago.
Since this year the copy protection is a keyfile only or has been completely removed to make sure that older products continue to work for a long time in the future.
I listen to the customers a lot and take feedback seriously. I regularly release big and free updates which can be downloaded here:

Filterbank 3 for Mac still 32 bit ?

 

In return, R2R spared his latest and greatest Icarus 2 synth, cracked everything else and told everyone via nfo that he removed harmful bombs from his plugins. Now the developer is living a happy life with increased sales and happy users.

Of course there's a chance he only changed because his protection got defeated, but on the other hand, we shouldn't prematurely dismiss the possibility that he might have actually had a change of heart. I don't know guys, I like what I'm reading. It's respectable. Whether he is serious about it, and whether things stay the way they are now, remains to be seen. But I'd say, give him a chance.

 

The good old switcheroo where the warez group makes the dev apologize.

 

personally, a little TOO LATE for that. He is one of the few devs that I would never support. What he did was as fucked up as it can get. He only stopped because he got caught. Yet he waited TOO LONG to make things right. I got him blacklisted. I don't even use non legit (try before you buy) releases of his software. I only download it so in case they get blacklisted I can continue to share it with whoever wants to honor this jerk by using his vst/plugins.

Next to apologizes is Steinberg for using USB eLicenser and letting annoying posts all over the net.

Wow, seems this guy is really evil... but don't tell me he's more than Steven "Satan" Slate cause I won't buy that...

 

Tbh, I don't have an issue, it's plugged into the back of the computer and not touched for years, I've never had it give me any problems! I guess those moving around or working on laptops, it can be annoying and I do believe Steinberg are going to introduce a new protection system, maybe with v11, at least they confirmed that they are working on it. I would hate it if it became like Adobe.

 

That slate guy is a douche-bag. I will pay a bounty of $25 000 to have all his plugins cracked on Mac and Windows! Greedy idiot! Same thing applies to Joey Sturgis Tones

 

All is good, until he finds another way to f@ck up your system.

Alert the community? It wasn't a secret, we saw how our systems were reacting to his malware.

 

none of the complainers probably bought any of his synths to begin with, it is his policy, you can choose not to buy.
