That was good advice @No Avenger thanks

So i've been free the last couple days and wasted an enormous amount of time on one kit, trying things out, watching a lot of tutorials and reading mixing drums materials, i think it improved, at least listening back to the audio i gave you in this thread i realize how muddy and wonky everything was on the drums.

What do you think about these guys ? I'm pretty satisfied, there is air in the mix, i really was doing reverb the wrong way now it's subtle and brings clarity i'm really content with that :

Baby! Sho' be smoove. Nice, man. Better frequency balance there, imo.
Must say though, whatever you were doing on the first mix that was too much, well, it had a 'sound' too! If it could be tamed, it sounded slightly more retro ie. authentic to a genre, to me.
Like, maybe you had too much low-end in the reverb, or something? I don't know. Would like to know! haha.

Neat! Which ADpack did you use? What's the signal chain? Very pleased with the result.

I'll just add to what's already posted - look at some tutorials on "gluing your drum tracks together." There's a bunch of them on youtube.

Yeah there were much more low mids overrall, i had like four reverbs, this time i just balanced a room and a plate. But i admit it feels somehow more boring to do things the right way for some things, i just wanted to polish my drums and ended up mixing everything, i feel like it's more close to pop now, pretty far from the retro funk with a modern touch i'm trying to emulate. Thanks for the appreciation, it hard to know what sounds good without feedback from people who actually produce.

Started with vintage dry, changed the snare and the hat, removed every single effects they had on, the samples are awesome though.

cool! Is it another snare from vintage dry or another pack? pardon my enquiry but I really like the sound of it, never managed to get a nice dry and punchy snare from AD.

Ah! So I was really feeling it! We're into the same sound of an era of funk! Man, whatever you were doing on your first mix was a thing, and needs to be employed a bit for that authentic sound!
Please, go into great detail what you did with the four reverbs! Did you mean just the kit eq, or was it the low mids in the reverbs you meant? And was that slightly saturated too? :beg:

The main differences I recognize between your first and second version are that BD and Snare mainly sound brighter and therefore more modern and upfront.
You could high filter the Room/reverb (shelf or cut) for both and/or reduce the amount of wires for the snare and/or emphasise its root note.
