Are any of these plugs any good? Any recommendations? Their discounts are pretty good, ending soon - can members here chime in?

why have they got 6 glue compressors when they could just create one that can do all mix buses?
judging by that alone i would assume they are not great.

 

meanwhile it seems their go-to vocal plug is the Gain Reduction 2, not even part of these bus-glue options... their Transify looks interesting - can anything in plugin alliance, waves do what it does...? hype??

these almost seem like the *sausage fatteners* of the metal-rock world. I"m not knocking that, exactly. Seems like JST has come up with some nifty ways to tackle mixing/mastering problems faced by rock/heavy metal producers... ? am I drinking the kool-aid? is this kool-aid?

 

It's at moments like this I wish the likes of Foster would grace this thread with his presence and add fifty pages of ravings about the reality and meaning of... *oh, nevermind*

ive never tried anything there that i noticed. i have a particular taste though. usually if a company offers 38 different VA compressors i will stay clear of them. i usually find them to be marketting hype.

I think JTS started with the virtual amplifiers years back... then moved into plugins...? some of them seem right on point like pixelator and Sub destroyer etc but some seem almost gimmicky - but as we saw with the likes of Sausage Fattener and even brainworx has "mastering desk" - gimmicks aren't necessarily a bad thing.

Just ask Martin Garrix.

 

To correct the statement, it was Flavour Aid. :P

 

I used Tonality quite a lot for saturating and soft clipping snares - it's a bit of a slept on gem. And the original GR (his first plugin) is great for slamming vocals. It has a nice vibe to it. The others I didnt test. At this stage I need another vendor entry in my plugin list like I need covid19 - I aint havin that ;)
