Which one is better for Trance pads and arps?

AN200 has multisaw, AN1X don't have
AN1X has 2 scenes, AN200 has 1 scene
AN1X has 10 voice polyphony, AN200 has 5 voice polyphony

It's hard choice.
I like rack format, this is in compact box so +1 for AN200
Multisaw +1 for AN200
2 scenes +1 for AN1X
10 voice poly +1 for AN1X

I like more AN200 but I missed the most this 2 scenes.
You can make better pads on 2 scenes, but AN1X don't have multisaw.

Which one is better?

 

There is no better in music world, just subjective feelings.

Buy both, keep them for 1 year, try arps and pads in your style then sell the one you like less.

The ANX1 sounds better to my ears. I owned both of them at the same time. Sold the AN200 and still have the ANX1. Not only you have m10 voice polyphony, compared to 5 but also you have the Arpeggiator, and you wont need to have an editor to go deep into it as you would need with the AN200. another thing to consider is the resale value. The ANX1 would be a better investment. It is easier to sell one than trying to sell the AN200. The ANX1 is a classic analog emulation synth. The AN200 always will be the "desktop groovebox based on the ANX1." Ask around to people that owned both and everyone will tell you that the ANX1 sounds grittier, and it is a better investment.

 

back when we talked about them, me and friend decided that AN1X was the better choice if price is similar... can't remember the reasons

 

AN200 does have the 2-scene feature, which can be seen in the photo.
It's also covered in the owner's manual.

For me, the AN1x all day long. I never should have sold mine.
