initial piano sound starting at the very beginning

i tried delay, reverb, eq but for some reason it doesn't get me there, any ideas

am i just using these effects incorrectly? or is anything missing

Sounds like a slight sidechain effect.
You can do this the easiest way by using one of those:

Xfer Records LFO Tool
Polyverse Music Gatekeeper
Press Play Envelover (Freeware)
TAL Filter 2 (Freeware)

i thought it was delay but its sidechaining indeed
