Auditioning samples in place/Hot swapping broken in Live 10?

I used to be able to do this... essentially I have a sample playing in say Simpler... I don't like it so I hot-swap the sample (using the circular arrows button at the bottom right of the Simpler display, yes I know how to do this). As I'm scrolling in the browser, the new sample plays in context with my track. Ableton can do this. But sometime during my years, I lost/forgotten the ability to do it. Instead of playing in the context of my track, scrolling thru the samples shoots of a one-shot while the track is playing. I've gone so long without doing it, it wasn't until I came across a YouTube tutorial and I saw the dude doing it. I asked him his response was very... "just click the button". Obviously that's not working. What am I missing or is this a bug? If so, its been there for quite a while.

i'm not sure what you mean, but it could be to do with the global quantize ( top left of the session window), if it's 'Off' then it will not wait to commence playing, it will do so straight away. So you put a quantize value in then it will 'wait' to come in at the same tempo..
    not sure if that helps...

I'm not sure what's not clear about my description of the issue. Still thanks for ur response, but no. The one-shot that gets fired off isn't in with any timing, so global quantize doesn't affect it. Watch the clip and note when dude says he doesn't like the sample playing and changes it.. all he's doing is hitting the hot-swap button in simpler then scrolling through samples in the browser.. they all play in the context of the track.

Hello. Click hot swap on sample selection button and the browser turns orange indicating hot swap mode. Pick a new sample to replace the older one by double clicking. It will not replace the sample just by pointing it in your browser. In the video he is doing it with ENTER on his laptop instead of double clicking, you can hear it. Well its working for me just fine i don't think it's broken

the problem is the double clicking, its freakin annoying, i remember it was easier, just one click?

But yeah it works with double click.

EDIT i found Battery 4.0, which makes exactly this. but still for ableton this would be amazing, u go in a sample folder and just go through with the arrow keys until u find something, double clicking is annoying as fk.
