I made a small comparison between these:

    in 32bit FP, 44,1kHz.

EQuilibrium and LP10 set to linear phase, ofc, Nova to Precise+.

Just BD, snare and HH with ADD2. No overhead, room or treatment within ADD2.

I used a low cut, three bells and a high shelf with identical values and no output adjustment.

The first is untreated, followed by the four EQs of course not in the order in the pic.

    https://drive.google.com/open?id=11OeOJI1MFbvsfSE5DqPxvGLxOMhwbEBI

EDIT 1: and what do you think when you compare the sounds?

EDIT 2: Since a Kapellmeister asked for it, I applied these EQs to a complete track.

With now a low cut, low shelf, one mid bell and a high shelf the performance looks like this:

Interestingly, the MAAT dropped in CPU use and PDC, the NOVA seems to equal the soundcard's buffer size (don't worry about the # FX, one of each is bypassed).

    Same order as before

EDIT 3: Busy Bee aligned the shit out of it: https://audiosex.pro/threads/who-can-identify-theqorange.53255/page-3#post-471701

And for the impatient here's the solving https://audiosex.pro/threads/who-can-identify-theqorange.53255/page-3#post-471677

EDIT 4: I meanwhile made a nulltest with thEQorange and the free lkjb QRange

No need to hear them. This is way above my head so they all sound dandy, no f*cking clue which is which

But with a bit of EQ matching perhaps... :winker::rofl:

I don't think making them sound like a guitar's cab is the question at hand

I do can say I like the second snare the most.

That's all I can give you an answer to!
    So, first is untreated..
First one after, something crunchy & too harsh in the high-mids of the snare & I don't like it.
Second one sounds the nicest to me.
Third one similar to second, but not as nice although something comes out of the hat which was nice!
Fourth one is ugh and dull.

CPU use is worthy of Acustica Audio and the PDC is probably the highest I've ever seen.

Does the MAAT EQ use oversampling (as default)? That could explain things.

The Phase Shifter is really nice.
I had never used phase shifting before are there others that work better?

Are the curves exactly matched? Might be worth checking thru PluginDoctor & also match by ear, the values could correspond differently for the settings of each EQ. I like the sound of the second one, has better sense of depth & transient punch. So, what's the answer? :)

My favorites : 3, then the 2 and after the others

I note that the 4 eq are completely different.

The 2nd and the 3 are closer.
They better preserve the characteristics of the original source.
I prefer the way the low cut of EQ 3 acts on the low end.
The feeling of depth is preserved

I understand why the others prefer the 2nd.
On the second, the transients are preserved and it even looks like they are highlighted.
This gives it more presence, more in your face.

The 1st and 4th are similar, aggressive, perfect for making techno music
I am unable to say who is who

Thank you @No Avenger , I love these tests

They all sound different, I can work with 2 and 4 and I think Orange is #2

    #2 orange
    #4 dmg
    #3 ddmf
    #1 TDR

can you tell me if I am close?

    Edit:
Ok my FINAL guess goes like this:
    #0 ORIGINAL

    #1 TDR NOVA
    #2 Orange MAAT
    #3 DMG Equilibrium
    #4 DDMF LP10

Would have potentially been an interesting test, with more complex content.

A two second drum loop with no sustained harmonic information will barely tell you much about these eq; let alone their extremes, which to me is where the notable qualities an audio device or plugin are easily distinguished. All we are hearing are mostly transient information which is probably not the best for this type of test, unless you include more sustained harmonic content like real cymbals or toms.

I've noticed most audio processors sound samey when used in small moderate quantities... for example a +1 db, +2 db on an acoustic guitar isnt a test that yields a practical difference for most real world applications.

Do a 6+ db bell midrange boost or high self on a full track, or vocals (within a mix) for your test and then you'll start producing some notable differences regarding each plugins strengths or weaknesses.
