very different pricing policy and discounts, also PA has a reputation of releasing very good plugins consistently.

@No Avenger in a world with unlimited computing power anything is possible. More so with the advance of quantum computing and nano technology. However, that is not a realistic possibility for us at this moment. Currently, an exact software reproduction is nearly impossible, and even harder to disprove due to the fact that not 2 pieces of analog gear will sound exactly the same. Analogue components have manufacturing tolerances that vary from 1% to 20% These changes make an audible difference in how one sounds compared to another. Indeed, developers know that , and use it as part of their sales tactic, and justification for any "flaws" in their respective "true emulations." Now, PA has patented TMT or Tolerance Modeling Technology which in BrainWorx bx_console E and G plug-ins give you up 72 slightly different channels, including different left and right channels in stereo setups. WAVES has NLS. How can the 99.99% of users compare its sound to that of Mike Hedges' EMI TG12345 Mk IV or Yoad Nevo's custom built Neve 5116? In my opinion, whoever buys a plugin emulation thinking that is getting the exact same sound as its hardware counterpart at a fraction of a price is a fool. We should not allow good looking GUIs, marketing brochures, and endorsements by award winning producers, and engineers to sway our decision. I love and support developers like Fabfilter that instead of focusing on emulations have been able to focus on producing good sounding and extremely useful plugins. If a plugin sounds good, and fits into your workflow, it should not matter whether or not it is emulating a $400k piece of hardware. Just my 2 cents.

Absolutely (1), that's why I wrote 'you hardly can get closer'. I maybe should've added '...to that specific model in that specific situation and use'.

Absolutely (2). Could be my signature (1).

    Could be my signature (2).

BTW, why is PA calling it AMEK? Another marketing trick?

Well... They had the Q1 sale where you could grab 299-349$ for the same amount... And they still run a lot of sales... I've also never paid more than 30-40 $ for any of their plugins... Just be smart and wait some time and all of their plugins will be on sale for way less than the retail price

That is obvious. But what is the connection between his GML and Sontec, on which according to Dirk this is based, and the name AMEK?:hillbilly:The best AMEK consoles and EQ's were designed by Rupert Neve.

Agreed that the voucher system at AA needs investment, but it's the same at PA where I've spent a lot more money than at AA but now all I get from PA with their new system is a miserable 25$ monthly voucher, that's pathetic from them. When they do give the 75$ voucher they used to give every months they force you to buy several plugins, I won't do that since I'm not fond of their emulations that much.
And I've never seen their strips (ssl emu with the TMS modeling thingy) sold by them at less than 150....Their other products can be highly dicounted but not the strips. Last but not least AA also offers separate elements with the strip they sell, so usually for around 50$ I get a strip, several modeled eq units, comps and preamps....

that changed when subscription entered, and as I see it from outside they do not sell as attended, they had a period right after when they did not made any offer, then at a sudden they made some and re-entered in that circle again, its crazy that they think subscription is the way to go, i mean anyone wants to own the product, not throwing around money... as for the structure of the plugins, given that they are really light confronting AA its not a problem for me, i can load a dozen of fx and hot hitting hard the CPU wich with AA you cannot really do that, even with powerful chips ...Im a fan of SPL and Elysia plugins, then i like Lindell alot...

PS: there is a sale going on at Kush https://thehouseofkush.com/pages/store#plugins if you are interested
