Hey! I’m a producer that’s just starting out looking to get some decent earbuds or headphones that I can use to mix and for leisure use too. Thank you!

Hey man I think you should save up a bit more and get something you can use/get used to and that's of some sort of quality like sennheisers or at m50x trust it'll be worth the little bit more you do save up these headphones will last you a while and you will also be learning and mixing with decent cans

For mixing I'm having good results with Senheiser HD600 + Schiit Magni 3 amp + CanOpener by Goodhertz (crossfeed).

Check out the Samson SR850's. Definitely the best mixing cans on a budget.

I've mixed once while traveling with a cheap pair of sennheiser in-ears. Don't remember the name right now, but the low end was clear, altough the top end wasn't and they added distortion at low levels

AKG K-702(130 Bugs) for a budged Option. I use those, and I am very Confidently mixing with them for over 10 years now....!
    Spend at least 130 to150 bugs, I wouldn't go below that!

Sennheiser 280 Pro and 380 Pro are good entry level headphones for monitoring which you can get in $100-$200 budget. You could start with one of them if you're just beginning, when you have more money use them with Sonarworks Reference software for an accurate reproduction of sound signals.

Check this barely known brand OneOdio.
I own some pairs and I love them.
PS: I mainly use them on my DJ gigs or listen to music while I'm on driving on transports.

And here's a 10% discount code for you. CSDFSDF
I'm in any way affiliated with the brand.

Quality headphones that last you a lifetime start at $100. You should probably save up to that instead of buying twice, it's not that much considering how often you'll use them.

id say probably 200$ the most but you can get really decent ones that will last you until your mixing skills pro level and you will still use them because 1 you know them in and out by then and 2 they still work because you invested in a decent pair and not trash that you would've had to buy again or another pair of I would personally go for Audio technica m50x people swear by these and I do too they're great all around even for listening but the most important thing is get a pair and stick with them because your mixes will get better when you know your cans from 20 to 20k

I think for less than $40, if you get an original Apple EarPods with 3.5mm jack that they used to make before 2017, it has a surprisingly good quality. It’s not super flat but since it was popular, you can find a lot of measured frequency response charts and Audiophile reviews to be aware of the flaws. Almost every headphone correction software in the market can correct them too. Check out Sonarworks or TB Morphit.

I always try to spend some time mixing with my EarPods and then check with phone speakers, car stereo and a shitty PA. These are pretty much 90% of the scenarios your listeners are in.
It’s very comfortable in your ear when you’re working for hours with a normal listening volume. The bass is convincing for in-ear monitoring and response time is minimal compared to $200 Sennheiser earbuds.

If you go with them, make sure to clean them regularly and when you’re in a noisy environment don’t turn up the volume. If you can’t concentrate on the music you better take a break.
Also check your mix in mono for overall balance and a speaker simulator like Redline Monitor for stereo image.

There are zero buds out there that will accurately & competitively reproduce an even response compared to speakers & headphones. That being said. My recommendation is to buy what the majority of the world listens to, which are generic Apple earbuds.... That way, if it sounds good on those then you know it will translate.

Hey! I'm using a similar setup but with a Clarett and Sonarworks. What are your canopener settings?

    Love,

I have a set of these, and a AT-M50X. I use the Samsons primarily as they are open. Good sound, and they will tell you if the high end is too bitey. Also good for low end stuff.

For on the way I use Westone W30 earbuds which are enjoyable to listen to but I would never use these or the Sennheiser IE80 (that I had before and crushed underfoot my Doc Martens and was utterly devastated :deep_facepalm:) to mix with. I can get away with the ATH M50 (X version now, but so close as to not matter) cans that I have been using for dog's years because I know them so well, but still, my KRK V6 2nd generation monitors are still far superior for really hearing what's going on (even though I'm flucking not hearing over 14K anymore, but it's the mids that are crucial, so not catastrophic) and too that I know how they translate to other systems after all this time. YMMV.

And here is another coupon for https://www.oneodio.com/ , this one for 20%. And I too am in no way affiliated with OneOdio, or am I?
