I have been wanting this plugin for a while now, but like many others, do not want to deal with iLok. Are there any alternatives that do pretty much the same thing, if not better?

You can use a combination of eq, a bit of saturation, or try Balancer fro Sonible.

While it lacks adding the fatness of Revival, there's a new plugin based on the Aphex Aural Exciter which is a vintage classic. That might be fun!

Aww thank you @No Avenger for taking the time to do that. Much appreciated.
Btw, what guitar is that? A Yammy? Sorry if it's something more special!

I'm already waiting for a take down (without request ), I took from a web page where they tested Revival. [IMG]

Why does Nova do pretty much what Revival does? I honestly think what you did sounds cleaner, and you can be more exact with it too.

Honestly, I've no clue. I'm afraid you've to ask Steven Slate why he made this. :winker:

BTW, as to my experience there are EQs which sound even better than Nova, but not for free.

    And thanks for the compliment.

I know that DMG Audio EQs like EQuality and Equilibrum sound better, and Fabfilter's Pro-Q is said to be among the best, but I never tested it (I don't like their GUI and I can't test 'em all).

Nomad Factory's Analog Studio Rack has an Exciter Module which I think does a similar thing. In general not a bad plugin to check out anyway if you like channel strips.
