hey guys back with that old problem again, i have a new build ill list specs below and im having several problems, unusually high cpu usage and pops and clicks.

now my last build was a intel i7 4770k i believe quad core 8 threads @3.5ghz with 32gb of ram, yes i have cpu spikes but not before at least 30 tracks using midi and fx were running.

the new build is hitting 15% cpu usage with 1 instance of Asturias piano or 1 omnisphere patch, with a bus with either fabfilter pro r or ni raum reverb, on my old build i know for a fact pro r used very little cpu, where on this new build im having cpu jump up 10 or 12%. now new build specs...

    amd threadripper 1950x 16 cores 32 threads @ 3.4ghz
    128gb of ram

this build is 3x times more powerful yet for some reason having issues, mind you at first i did not notice these issues, for about 2 weeks everything worked smooth no pops, no clicks no cpu spikes.

now i have optimzed the system for audio production i have done most of the "glitch free" steps and now im having pops and clicks even on simple synths such as fm8 droning ill get pops and clicks every 15secs or so.

also if im on YouTube if i adjust the vol. i get pops and clicks.

    presonus 192
    buffer size 1024
    sample rate 44.1

ive been at this at days trying to get some type of solution, honestly getting rid of the pops and clicks would be great but the cpu usage is a bigger concerned.

Your issue could be a driver, have you all the latest drivers for your audio interface, graphics? What is your OS?Maybe try to disable some idle options, one after the other in the BIOS?

First off...You should be able to use 48kHz, 24bit or 32bit & a buffer size of 64 to 128 with no issues for mixing.

Second...There is a BIOS issue with Threadripper & audio production. Could not recall the exact article but,
I found the following which outlines using Threadripper with Ableton Live. This may help resolve your issue.

sounds like plenty processes and devices are cycling your CPU, so although it's used by 15% barely, it can be suffering from DPC latency spikes,
measure your DPC latency first: https://www.resplendence.com/latencymon
