At one point I hit the mythical "brown note" Luckily the laundry is close to the studio.

 

None of this is a good testing regime, to test properly you need to remove the knowledge of when the sound is on, and what the current frequency is, otherwise you'll just be self-biasing to justify your monitors' purchase price, sorry.

Sorry, but wrong. With my 8''ers set to ~10:30 o'clock position (at home) and soundcard at unity gain, I can feel the air moving down to 15Hz.
So mute and un-mute are therefore easy to distinguish, no help.

 

34hz to 13500hz. Yamaha MSP5. If I turn up the volume I hear "something" at 16 hz...like a motor jajaja

35 Hz to a little above 14 kHz, Samson Resolv A8, age 46, give or take. It's hard to tell where exactly hearing begins and ends. After a few passes you start to "hear" things.

Edit, on another pass with the volume turned up I hear sound at 18kHz. How is that possible?

Second Edit, on the volume knob almost cranked, I do hear continuously up to 19 kHz, but barely. Anyone with the same experience?

Third Edit, the same all-the-way-up test gets me to hear rumble at 20 Hz, which starts to become a clear signal at 25 Hz, and becomes really clear at 30 Hz.

BTW, my monitors are at unity, and my first test was on my interface at my usual listening position, about 10:00 on the knob.

Because your hearing sensitivity decreases with increasing frequency. A higher volume compensates for this. Absolutely normal.

 

Size matters the size of the cone of my sub is about 36cm/14 inch.
It's a very old Raveland subwoofer with a custom crossover, on a class d amp.

Blew my KRK V88 (the double cone ones) out the ballpark with the dynaudio's bm15's. (granted without the krk sub)
both in fidelity and in power. So when my life took A different route and I needed some cash I got rid of the v88s

Now, after calibration with my new dynaudio lyd 8 set there is hardly anything I could wish for.

 

13hz - 14381hz , but with headphones
