And now when i try to load patches it says missing sounds, with no option to relocate them. When i go into the library directory none of the content including the factory library are there(only other N.I content is there), so i dont have the option to locate the library from there either.

Apologies if im asking in the wrong place i have searched for answers but no avail. Does anyone know what i can do without having to re-installing or putting expansions back in their previous location? thanks in advance.

Perhaps a quick fix would be using symlinks to make Maschine "think" the folders are where they were.
I'm on PC but look at this video and skip to the part where he shows how to make easily symbolic link on Mac:

 

Like Xupito said, you can set a symlink to the previous location.
