I've been feeling not great, a bit fearful if this fucker decides to pull a blade on me and a bit dark for what most of the world's population is dealing with right now. I took a little time in between chilling out and resting and recorded this yesterday (I'm in CET, it might still be today for our eastern sisters and brothers).

I used a rather inexpensive Yamaha FG-430 that an ex boyfriend of my wife's gave me a bunch of years ago. He bought it thinking he would learn to play but never made the time to do so. The strings are old and the G string broke a while ago and I never replaced it so it is at least for now it's a 5 string guitar. For the players out there and for those who are interested in this kind of thing, every string is tuned to A flat to enhance the modal, dark vibe that I was chasing in order to express the feelings clouding me these daze. There is very little tension on the neck and the strings are wobbly. I didn't set up the guitar for this tuning and just let it rip. I used two mics, a Gefell UMT70S and a Beyerdynamic m930 into a Golden Age Pre MKIII (Carnhill transformers in and out) and a Daking Mic Pre One all into my RME Babyface. The Gefell first went into the Warm WA76.

I like it very much, so original... Acoustic compositions are not often heard here, except great songs by superliquidsunshine, time ago.., I'm living in the eye of the storm and I'm not a teen anymore :) so I understand your feelings...
Congratulations again also for the technical side and the perfect tuning

Thanks, @angie Stay safe and healthy. I'm just over the border in Switzerland and I feel terribly for the communities of your area, it's so very sad to see the devistation left in the wake of this virus. Namaste.

Hmm, I dont want to be a smart ass, but the virus everybody is talking about at the moment is "Corona" (Covid-19, SARS-Covid-2) and not Cholera. Also the disease "Cholera" is not caused by a virus but a bacterium named "Vibrio cholerae"

    For those unfamiliar...

The OP's title is that of one of the greatest novels ever written (IMHO). You should have googled the whole phrase.

Ahh, OK I see! Never heard of this novel. I thought he mismatched Corona and Cholera.

It's really hard to put an accurate title name to an acoustic track, but you did so perfectly. There is a lot of feeling in that.

HOLY SHIT LOIS YOU CAN SHREEEEEEEEEEEED!!!!

Why haven't you ever shared your amazing compositions here? Man I'd buy this shit in a minute...

Very nicely played and the vibe is amazing, love the shakers, who played them?

But your style is really cool and you have amazing playing ability... the variation and buildup into the tension was well executed as well, I should learn a thing or two from you about composition...

I hope for you a speedy recovery and I hope you make it through :)

Bravissimo! I love it. An excellent, and interesting track, which shares the same title as one of my all time favorite novels by the great Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Overall, great musicianship, plus a skilled recording. A perfect example that the majority of times a minimalist approach to artistic, and mixing matters is more effective. Less is more! You have earned my professional respect with this track, my friend. Thanks for sharing this wonderful track with all of us.

Thanks, Pirate for the kind words.

Besides the reference to the global vibe, there was a lot of how I'm feeling for Stryves as I recorded this. I hope that he is getting through his personal crises as best as he can.

    Stay healthy.

Another Excellent! Music Journey from You
I wish You all the best with your health man
It is very nice to see that you have friends here, you are a vey lucky member
At least people are not backstabbing you all the time like they do to me...
...last summer i posted a similar kind of vibe/track on the general audio chat page here on the forum called "Summer of 2019"
i just wanted to wish everyone to have a Happy Summer, that was my intension, you feeling me ?
Next thing i read from this "little bitch member" is something like this : he says : Yeah right lol summer making fun/trolling me...
I open another thread called Mirage or something, the track/s did well, next thing i read again from the same member on the audio chat page is :
Bitch your tracks this & that, don't sound good....all the time dissing me all around the forum...sometimes i write that i'm using Fabfilter Pro L..
....again the same member says something in other threads that he will "take care" of "Fabfilter"...go figure his attitude...another time i post a track created with kontakt...bitch complains that kontakt is not good..and so on & so on...
so that is why i deleted my second audiosexual account...
(first one was about the guy that had problem with me saying for the audiosex community when i was posting a track here on the "our music forum")
Anyway sorry for the rant it has nothing to do with you,but in this professional audio community of friends, some peoples behavior really makes me sad ,i feel you're old enough to understand me & how i feel, that is why i'm saying what i'm saying brother
Now the important stuff  :
please say hi to Beth from Spyros if you keep talking to her ( i think she deleted her account because of Foster trolling her ) &
Keep making the music you do
Peace,Harmony Lots of Laughter & Love ,take good care of your self

:drunks:The original title, albeit in Spanish, is Amor en los tiempos del colera. The English translation came afterwards, and 20 years later a film was released. Nobel Prize winning author Garcia-Marquez is a writer that begs to be read in his native Spanish, as much as Dostoevsky begs to be read in Russian. Having read Garcia-Marquez's novels in English and Spanish, I must say that the English translations, as good as they are, fall short.

They all must fall short if written by a master no matter how artful the translation. A hack can be hacked, a wizard of prose, never. Besides that, the nuance of language is alive in the culture that births it. Imagine a 380 foot giant redwood removed from its forest, the soil that sprout it, the hillside deep within a ravine where it grew side by side with other of its kind where every tree in that forest is literally touching each other's root system for miles around, continuously communicating and interconnected. The behemoth is then transplanted in Spain for instance, and though everyone gathered in the central piazza marvels at it's height, girth and comments on the technical ingenuity to bring it to the people it is really rather out of place in spite of its magnificence...or something like that.

I love it @Lois Lane , keep it and cheers and hugs!:mates:

    Fail
No offense, I've made much worse mistakes. I'm a native Spanish speaker so not even I could mistake this title.

    Fail too. It's "cólera".
    See, now I'm being a smart-ass
