How many of you spent more time troubleshooting NI products in the studio than making music?? Yea... I know the answer.

That's not the point. You seem to have missed the point about authorising on new machines.

For me, I was gutted when they discontinued the B4 II. Small footprint, using modelling, not unlike Pianoteq. Still my fave Hammond.
That's the one product I can see that hasn't got a new alternative, at least in the same way; because I don't want a big, sample based Hammond!
I mean, I do have those newer libs, but it's just not the same!
So, no: not all those products have newer or better versions.

Wow! Yeah, I guess they're listening! Amazing.

they still pay SSL Certificates for these oldies.
for things not solded anymore, that's why they choosen to close the activation.

you can still use H2O, Dynamics, AiR versions.

    For all the question

How long a Software should be supported ?

I have to say even the Reaktor Version I mention is over 10 Years old. (And again I'm feeling like an old man )
    (Like all other.)

Here is the list of discontinued products:

In the newer FAQ from NI they said they try to add an experimental support for the Old Programs

Is Native Instruments currently looking into any other solutions for affected customers?

Yes, in specific cases we might be able to provide at-your-own risk support for our end-of-life products. We can’t promise anything at this point and technical feasibility needs to be evaluated. We will share more information about this as soon as possible.

We will see what will happen.

Woah! see... no need to "doubt" me man lol.
Funny thing I could turn around and doubt you too. However, it would be better that I just ask if you've bought any of those products.

Truth is I've chimed in this conversation because the end-of-life note contains many products I actually own as part of Komplete 12. Yes, I was making a point on a product owned! Granted, each person here gonna have their opinion and as usual, the opinion differs on N.I. decision.

Just so there's no doubt that I've ever "bought many plugins in my life", I can start by showing you that at least I bought a legit K-12.

Now, if you want further truth on my other accounts at iZotope, Reasons Studios, XLN Audio, Avid, Ableton, Hexachords, Steinberg, UVI, AKAI, Toontrack, Vengeance-Sound, Audio Modern, FAW, Accusonus, A.A.S, Air, Xfer, KV331, Mixed in Key, Harvest, Serato, Soundtoys, Magix, Adobe, and Plugin Boutique then holla at me and I can take time to ease any doubt on this!

Too bad they haven't created any classics that are worth maintaining.

An instrument is an instrument, despite age. If it fits into your mix, it just does, no matter how much dust it's collected. In fact a lot of older instruments are usually sought after long after they have been released. Crazy comparison, but look at what happened after a lot of people traded their Analog synths for Digital synths years ago (Dang that was awhile back). They ended up wanting that old "Analog sound" back despite how ancient it was. I still use the Boesendorfer 290 East West Piano, mix depending, as well as a lot of others on that list.

    Hi all,

TL;dr - already bought & paid for an NI sample library but because of what the OP shared and use of new hardware, I can't activate it and now need a cracked version of Kontakt Player 5.5.1 to get it working in Pro Tools 10.3.10.

So yep, tis is a big problem for me. I bought Pro Tools 10.3.10 in 2014 along with my Mac Mini, which was upgraded to macOS 10.7.5 but because of constant issues with insufficient RAM and moreover CPU along with a need to consolidate hardware and use a bigger screen, I bought 27" iMac off eBay with an i7 processor and more RAM. But since Pro Tools 10.3.10 is not supported on the OS it shipped with (10.13.6), I paid $20 for the ISO download from Apple to get 10.8.5, the latest macOS Pro Tools 10.3.10 supports. Upgrading to a new version of Pro Tools: #1 - costs money I have no reason to spend (PT10 works Just fine, tyvm) and #2 - likely Breaks existing stuff I already have and need because of the switch from 32 to 64 bit architectures. So, since I'm sticking with PT 10.3.10 I'm likely stuck with OS X 10.8.5, which is fine, except of the problem mentioned above.

After the migration, migration manager was able to copy most things over (a few re-installs notwithstanding), but stuff like Waves now needs a USB drive permanently stuck in my rig to license the one plugin I use (so, never buying Waves again), and now Abbey Roads 80s Drummer, which requires Kontakt or Kontakt Player (which I was using) won't work in Pro Tools anymore (including a session I am actively working on now).

First, it just couldn't find the sample library at all for some reason. So, I re-installed it, and now Kontakt Player 5.5.1 (the most recent one that can run on OS X 10.8.5) loads and plays from all four sample libraries. But the problem now is that if I click the Activate button and login, it doesn't work. So the samples stop working after 15 minutes, because they're in demo mode.

Now, all my hardware synths that I've collected over the last 20 years still work, so I would imagine that since I paid money for this product that even if the idiotic online registration method for software activation would be discontinued for whatever reason that I'd least get a way to activate it offline (even Waves, as bad as they are, offered that), but apparently this, too, is unavailable.

I have read somewhere someone running Pro Tools 10.3.10 on Mac OS 10.9.x, where I'd be able to use this silly "Service Center" thing in order to activate the samples I paid for. However, I am unwilling to go to the trouble of doing that just to find out that Pro Tools actually won't work on OS X 10.9.x and that there's no way to go back unless I spend days reinstalling everything from my backups.

That's not going to happen. What's going to happen instead is that I am going to find an use a cracked version of Kontakt Player 5 so I can use the product I legally paid for (and then never buy anything Native-Instruments makes ever again).

That said, I'm not really a "warez" guy (as you can see from what I've written here, I wrote the word Buy a lot, because I believe in paying for my software). So I don't know too much about this, what's out there and, moreover, I am not in the mood to catch malware on the way to figuring out which links get me a download that I can install and nothing else. I've already run across a handful of ZIP files with EXE files in them (and nothing else) when trying to download a Mac crack for Kontakt, so not going in that direction. I am here today to see if anyone can point me in the right direction (even via DM).

If you want a donation for your time, I am willing to pay for the information I need to get this done because I've already lost too many days between NI's "support" and the unhelpful forum the simply told me what I already knew.

I agree with most of the posts here. I didn't Lease this software, I bought it. And my hardware synths continue to work, Just fine. When they don't, I can take them to place to get them fixed usually. The idea that I paid money for this and because Their design requires Online activation (stupid), and they decide to discontinue that means for whatever reason (maybe it uses old SSL 3.0 or something stupid like that), that's quite frankly not my problem. I am happy to pay for a product to use it legally but if my only option is to potentially destroy my existing set up or spend thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars in upgrades Just to get One sample library working, then I am going to take a different route. Simple as that.

Really appreciate any advice in advance. And if there was an existing post that covered how to do this that I missed after searching here for the last few hours to find it, I apologize in advance and appreciate any guidance toward the posts where how to do this step-by-step was already detailed.

    Thank you.

    Best regards,
    Phaser1

To be fair guys, most of what is in that list is old crap, that has been since replaced by newer versions from NI etc.. Like Kontakt, Reaktor, Absynth, FM7, Battery.. One item i would miss is Vokator, they never did replace this or update it... But overall most of this stuff is really old and so much more has been released since those days that is of much higher quality, I really don't see why people would be pretending to moan.. be honest, 95% of us use cracked software anyway...lol

I stopped using Mac/Pro Tools years ago so my advice will be limited, but first of all, get a download of Kontakt (with the addlibrary tool) & Kontakt portable, not just Kontakt player. When did you buy this library? If it was recently, it may require a more recent version of Kontakt. Sorry if I missed this but can you not find/download a cracked version of that library? Tons of producers here buy the stuff but continue to use the cracked versions.

I use Traktor Pro 2.x because it came with my Traktor DVS hardware and it just works... It pisses me off that they are discontinuing activations.. What if my pc craps out and I HAVE to install it on a different one?? Things like this is why i have no problem at all using warez.. I guess I'll go ahead and download Traktor 3 from the sister site.

Bought it Spring of 2014 along with everything else and everything was working until I changed Macs to switch to an iMac and get a faster CPU. So I do know at least the sample library and Kontakt Player version are compatible. The issue was discovered when I happened to load a PT project that uses this NI drum library, and it complained about being unable to find it. At first I just re-installed the library, but then when I turned on Kontakt Player 5 itself to reload the library, I was presented with the "Activate" button, which failed to work.

My hope is that new information that I have since encountered will enable me to circumvent NI's stupidity so the drum samples used a bunch of PT projects I've produced over the years don't have to be somehow replaced by something else.
