Hello everybody...a question....is it possible to have 2 different istances of Kontakt on the same mac? For ex. i would like to keep the previous 5.03 rels and the new 5.1 on my mac.
If it's possible how i can do? i'm a newbie with OSX system..

i read your discretion more you are not trying to install 2 different versions you just want to update 5.03 to 5.1 i don't understand why would you wont to keep a older version ?

but i don't think you can do that i though you meant a hole different version like 2 3 or 4 of Kontakt

It's because with new 5.1 version some libraries are in demo mode (EWQL, Vapor etc) while with the old 5.03 they works correctly..

 

the answer is No. You can have versions 2/3/4/5 but not 5.03 / 5.1

stick with 5.03 or you could perhaps do a bit more research and follow some workarounds that have already been posted

 

It's the same here. 18 older libraries (East-West, PSP, Zero-G, Best Service) don't work with 5.1.0.

What i did:
It's principally possible to run third-party apps, which are located on another partition.
I have currently two partitions with different Kontakt update versions installed (10.8.3 with 5.1.0 / 10.6.8 with 5.0.3).
Makes it possible to start both Kontakts - simultaneously or alternately - without starting a second OS.

Another solution would be for example, to run desired Kontakt on your Mac with Crossover or Wine -
or to run a second Win/Mac system simultaneously with Parallels, VMware, VirtualBox a.o., but it requires much more system resources.

 

Try VSTLord, working with Kontakt 5.0.3

 

I think an update came up on Audioz, now old libraries work on Kontakt 5.1 !
