Best Of Health To All,..Anyway,I will be getting new Computer Audio Rig and looking to Transfer my VST Plugins etc: to a new computer without having to start over and installing all those Plugins from the Installer..After I backed up all my files from my Old Audio Computer,I really don't know what is the best way to go about this, but My understanding is to just drag and drop the dll's into the New Computer VST folder and also keep a folder of my license images..(If I Can Find The Lic's)..

However,This is the first for me doing this,So I would assume some of you been down this road before..
I know there will be cases I will have to reinstall from the Installer, but In short from your experience, what is the best way of going about this that works best to get these Plugs Come To Life on my new Audio Rig....
    Thx So Much Rob..

    Hi, Rob.

I'm afraid it doesn't really work that way, for the most part. Your best bet is to install all of your plugins from scratch and re-authorize them, one by one. Some plugins are as simple as "drag and drop", but generally licences are tied to your machine's innards, complete with registry entries and such. There's more to it, but that's the gist of it.

Also, if you have legit plugins, DAW's, etc, ensure that you de-authorize them before saying good-bye to your existing PC. This isn't always necessary, but definitely common practice before making the migration to a new machine.

On the bright side, you get to weed out unnecessary plugins and applications that you never use, while keeping things nice and streamlined for better productivity.

Best of health to you as well :)

Thx for the Insight Usernone,,Yes I was afraid of that starting from scratch..but its fault of my own holding on that old clunker Computer way to long..LOL..Yes I have to agree, The bright side is to weed out unnecessary plugins that I never use and there's been plenty.
Your recommendation is well taken and will push forward the slow process..Thx Again Usernone..Rob

Clone your harddrive. If you don't have multiple harddrive bays then you'll need a SATA to USB cable. I use EaseUS partition manage to do the cloning but most partition managers will work. Only ever had trouble with plugins that use hardware ID checkers. And that was only two bundles. Everything else worked fine. Best option.
