According to the manual, ALT + D duplicates and inserts selected material.
What I expect to see is the content pasted on to the end of the selection and material to the right pushed along to make way for the past. This is not working for me, I've tried loads of methods and nothing is doing what it should. Am I missing something obvious?

OOps, forgot, here are some pics to illustrate what I mean. You will notice that the top tracks do not move at all.

Blimey... That's a pain, I still cannot get this to behave like I expect ( and get in other daws, most notably Ableton)...
