Trying to move cracked plug ins from an external drive. What all needs to be transfered?

    Had to reset my macbook and apparently formatted an external drive i backed up to where it is not bootable like i thought it would be. So im trying to transfer all my cracks from the drive to my laptop. VST,VST3 and components are being transferred along with application support. Some plug ins are working and some are not. What other files do i need to look for on the external to transfer over?

    better yet, is there any way to reformatt the external drive to one that i actually can boot up?
