Today I entered our favorite audio website, I found that Eset Smart Security detects it as a virus. Has something happened or is it just that Eset doesn't like this place?

They waves are angry, they will batter you, try and throw you off course, but you must persevere. Don't click on those mail order brides that pay you! (Unless you rich, maybe dey buying da way).

It isn't anywhere "Smart Security" if it tries to distance you from a heavenly place like this.

 

Zonealarm free antivirus and firewall, is a very good solution, no false positives and very flexible firewall.
Put it the firewall in "manual" in the configuration, then it will learn from your decisions which program can connect and which not.

 

"ESET SMART SECURITY" is one of the best (if not the best) AV+Firewall but you must have correct settings (R.T.F.M.) I have been using this AV for 15 years without problems. In Firefox i use "AdBlocker Ultimate" plug-in and this work for me.

 

You're fucked. Soak your computer overnight in vinegar and colloidal silver to disinfect.

 

Zonealarm might break the firewall registry so it stays registered at windows security center even tho you uninstalled it.
I had a week long discussion with the ZoneAlarm support, they couldn't help me, luckily I was able to remove it with another tool.
Windows Firewall Control is much cleaner imo

 

I just use defender these days , or mbam "malwarebytes"
Tbh you need to know what browser extensions to use..

I use firefox and Tor browser..
And you want the following add-onz "Disconnect" "Https everywhere" "Privacy badger" "U block origin" even "No script" too , but using it properly takes time learning curve wise, and can be considered as overkill for the casual user with nothing important to protect...
Get "Hijack this" And "Adw cleaner" too

Ive said this before , But the best standalone antivirus that doesnt work in real time, but checks your system manually is "Exterminate it"

I got a really stubborn virus thats extremeley difficult to remove a few years back, unrelated to audioz i might add, And most of the paid for antivirus'z i tried didnt even detect it, and the 1 or 2 that did detect it couldnt remove it..including Eset

I then got exterminate it on a weeks trial,, and it detected it, plus alot of other stuff i wasnt aware of, And removed it no problem at all n i was Gobsmacked.
It scanned everything , every cracked plugin i owned which was around 750 coz i was hoarding back then , plus the install folders , and not even 1 false positive was detected...

So knowing what i do now, im happy to download from here without a virus guard , and then just to settle my mind il run exterminate it from time to time to double check if everythings ok..

Also its better to have a seperate laptop or pc to download stuff, and then copy it over to your Daw Pc, Thats what i do now anyways!!

Plus, if your using win 10, Then download "shutup10" coz win 10 is incredibly intrusive regarding Telemetry getting sent to microsoft, and youl have no end of issues if you dont protect against it, shut up 10 will basically shut off all hidden intrusive elements , im on win 10 but i dont download from it , i even had to exclude c: drive from defender and the firewall too, Because it constantly quarantines so much stuff its ridiculous!

That's odd because I have been using ESET for the last 10 years and never ONCE has it listed it as a virus!

 

Oh dear, I take it you've never heard of the word Telemetry then?

Just a heads up for you, if you use WFC, EVERYTHING you do is logged by Microsoft and their third party partners!

 

I know about windows telemetry and I disabled it. There are actually different presets for data collection , security,basic,enhanced,full.
But I didn't knew that it also applies to the firewall, source ?
And how does ZoneAlarm change a thing ? Do you think it blocks the telemetry ?

The devil is internet!!
Before, when nobody connected to the internet, the world was a safer place. Before when humans lived in small tribes, far from those minds that wanted to take advantage of the efforts of others, the world was a safer place. When capitalism (a legal form of how the rich took advantage of the poor) did not exist, the world was safer.

Now that I have Eset, my whole world is safer (sarcasm). I am only putting a small protection to virus of rapid and massive propagation.

I can't be more grateful for everything audioz gives us. I just wanted to comment on that strange fact that happened to me yesterday. Now it doesn't exist anymore.

I use pi-hole to limit advertising.
