Find the best ENT doctor in ur area. Dont do stuff urself to ur ears. A great ENT will have that out in no time. Then consult him for future maintenence

The different doctors I had been to often applied a lot of pressure when injecting water to clean to the point that it hurt in the ear. I don't say that this does necessarily have a bad effect but I prefer the smoother, slower method.
Doctors usually work under time pressure and I can somewhat understand them trying to get "things fixed" as quickly as possible.

Well yeah, you have to tell them, as they don't necessarily know!
My friend went to one of the best ENT guys in India...and the Dr made him permanently deaf in one ear! Not by syringing, but just a routine check!

I think this way is a winner! I saw it in action in front of me, when one man (not a doctor) made a cleans to another one
    this way, it really works!
As for me, I had earwax before, and the doctors made a cleanse, pushuing water into my ears (so unpleasant...)
But then I started to visit SAUNA, SAUNA, guys! And I forgot about earwax forever!

Definitely. The advantage of doing it yourself is that you have much better control over the pressure and nozzle position. And again, you don't need much pressure.
Tipp: Don't stick it completely into the ear, always let some water pass, it does work.
It can take minutes for the chunk to get loose because the older they are, the harder and more dry they get so they have to soak up a little water first before they start to move.

DO NOT DO THIS. It'll cause fibrosis of the tympanic membrane, it'll stiff, you'll ear jack shit. Go see an ENT doctor.

OMG I can not believe some of the crazy advice and comments in this thread. As an qualified Audiologist you have all shocked me.

Your ears as audio professionals are the most important tool you have and none of you seem to have a clue how to look after them. This is the problem with the internet, there are too many professionals - and I use that term loosely - dishing out bad advice and then of course, we have the idiots that blindly follow it.

Do not use Q-tips, cotton wool buds or hair pins. Go and speak to a professional for advice. Stop trying to look after your hearing on a forum. And if you do continue to look for medical advice on a forum, you pretty much deserve everything that you get.

And you are one of them. I'm sure you could read that we're all (mostly) in agreement in going to a pro? But way to go, re. making acquaintances on your first post.
The hair pin 'technique' (needs to be done around the sides of the canal) was actually shown to me by my friend I mentioned, the ENT specialist, because it's easier than using tweezers and pressure from fluids can damage the eardrum. He's one of the most sought after in England! :bleh:
Plus, when I mentioned my friend who went to India to one of the best specialists, who then made him deaf in one ear by being too vigourous, it's to illustrate how even 'pros' can make mistakes.
So yeah: I only trust myself with it really.

Ocean Water or better salt water dissolves earwax. One of the best home solutions. I use this (salt water Nasal spray) quiet often to clean my ears. I dont live at the Ocean. Ocean water has ~3,5 % salinity, which is according to my favorite doctor google :winker: the perfect amount to dissolve ear wax.

    Happy ear cleaning

    Thanks for all tips!

No luck yet, tried pharmacy products over night, several types of water rinsing, also with the shower jet, candle "trick", saltwater ... but the damn thing is still there..

Just bought a waterbottle with long straw pipe, similar to the image below. Next thing to try, before visiting the doc ...

Indeed no chemicals, let it be done purely "mechanical". washing with a liquid as a mechanical tool is ok
ears don't need cleaning, the most common reason for these symptoms are bad cleaning habits.

to circumvent these issues in the future, only clean the visible parts of your ears.
Wax needs to float out, use baby ear cleaning sticks from now on.
And when you sick don't keep sucking that snot up your front sinus.

that it itself should prevent these issues in the future if there is no other underlying cause.

Ps. deep cleaning should be done by proffesional, don't start shoving plastics up your ear and damage your eardrums

that's a worrying amount of distrust in your local medical workers,
injecting water in your ear is wildly uncomfortable, but your eardrum is used to pressure. its puncture what's the biggest risk for eardrums.

I would still recommend getting a referral higher up, I don't know where you are located, but here that would amount to an appointment with a specialist in the hospital. Who might as well be on a tight time schedule, but at least knows the magnitude of the risks involved.

Thats what they do when you visit a health centre with educated medics in this country with an earwax problem, shove and flush a giant plastic syringe filled with lukewarm water into your ear ...

I guess I can do it better myself (shoving plastics up my ear), because my ear is part of my body and I know the problem better than they do, thus can handle and judge the effect of it better ;-)

That would surely work - you're probably going to have a hard time to get it removed with these. You either have to apply a lot of pressure or refill the bottle several times until the beast starts moving.

Have you tried the other methods for long enough?
A shower jet worked for me too when I tried once but it took even longer, maybe 15 minutes!

I use a sterile medical dropper to fill one ear with hydrogen peroxide and then I lie on the other side for 15 minutes.
After that, I fill a clean spray bottle with body temperature water and spray the ear out after the h.p. has dissolved the worst of it.
    Repeat for the other ear.
Used to go to my doctor but a nurse sprayed my ears out with ice cold water and I felt like I was going to die.
Even if you don't use the h.p., at least make sure the water you use to spray your ears out is body temperature. And clean your sprayer!
If anyone thinks h.p. harms hearing, I'm almost 64, have been using it for years and had my hearing tested recently.
    It's perfect.
Wearing earplugs at live gigs years ago helped.
My father was an artillery sargeant in the military who lost his hearing firing cannons.
I used the artillery range earpugs that he was given but never used for years and they preserved my ears.

Stop putting "authority figures" like doctors on a pedestal. They are not some magic end all to all your troubles. I've literally seen many of them googleing shit. Many of them are box-of-rocks dumb. They are book smart, and a lot of that "book smarts" is indoctrinated bullshit that is focused on pushing and using endless pharmaceuticals and endless invasive testing. (both are massive cash cows)

Not discounting all medical professionals or methods, but get real and use logic and common sense. This is ear wax. Not brain surgery.

There was a post back about nutrition, it's accurate. Most peoples issues are their own fault because of their nutrient deficient, toxin loaded diets. Speaking of that, how much nutritional training does the average medical student have? Go look into that because it's alarming.
