So I have my own OCD which controls some of my actions. I'm stuck on a certain path that I need to try this so... I've downloaded the DrumComputer Demo from Sugar Bytes site, I'm trying to convert it to a full.


CORE:

• Size wise it looks the same as the 1.0 full installer, but doesn't add "serial" to the registry, adds "IsDemo" instead. I've fixed registry edits...
• Copied over the new presets and instruments from doing VM installs and comparing files in the documents area

I am unable to find out how the DLL for the Demo is different, because when it loads it still goes demo.

The size for the 1.1 Demo DLL is 52mb vs 1.0 Full at 59mb. It is possible they made it smaller but I think it's actually missing code. Normally I'm great at these hex easter egg hunts but failing today at this one.

TLDR:
Trying to upgrade to 1.1 using demo (SUPPOSEDLY big changes) ain't working, but I can copy new content over using the released 1.0 keygen version.

I read the rules, I think this is fine to post, sorry if it isn't... Any idea's? I won't buy cause right now I'm on the fence, I hate short demo's...

 

The sugar bytes demo installer has no activation routine in it.
You only get the real installer if you buy a license.

Ok, so after weeks of investigating...

v1.1.0

• resonator filter types (done)
• new resonator exciter (done)
• analog osc (sine, triangle, saw, pwm) (done)
• 2 band eq (done)
• drag n drop sample import (done)
• sequencer swing invert on bwd direction (done)
• improvements and minor fixes (fucked if I know lol)

I've really tried and it's kinda funny, cause another thread said it really doesn't matter what comes out, it's not gonna change who we are as musicians... But man I really invested time in this one for who knows what for.

Result... Meh? The demo video looked fun, and when they said 1.1 was gonna be what the people wanted ... Something inside me said I had to try this out. After new version wasn't released with the others my mental state was I had to do it myself like Soothe (and save $120 in case it's... Meh).

I can release the windows version 1.1 without keygen but I'd recommend waiting for an official installer for the... "Improvements and minor fixes" cause I have no idea what those are, and my comparison was burnt out in disappointment.

Also, now that I can move on from this mess...

Geist and MicroTonic were the ones I liked best years ago. Geist 2 came out, and the new system wasn't for me. It was so bad (for me) I stopped using Geist even. Atlas brought new life, XO really nailed it but I wasn't impressed with 32 steps. So I started saving multiple presets to get around the 32 step limitation, easy fix, but kinda messy.

DrumComputer waisted too much time, now back to XO with the multipreset option.

Everyone has different opinions, just my mental journal online for those that wonder what psychopaths use.

 

I would give geist 2 another chance, it's much better now. All the good things like destructive sample editing(From Geist1) are back, and with the last update from V.R. the performance is also down from sometimes 80% to 5-15%(Depends On The Size Of The Project In Geist2), and the audio engine is superior to geist1. I like atlas, but geist2 is on another level!

I own a copy of both microtonic and drum computer, the DC 1.1 update is ok. The EQ is helpful to add weight to the kick and removing lowend from hats.. handy... but it still sounds like drum computer. Despite the aging GUI of microtonic it still kicks ass IMHO. Dont get hung up about DC its ok and a nice toy when you feel the price is right, I would wait for a 50% in the summer or near black friday. I have a copy as the wife bought it me for christmas and I'm a sucker for synth drums....
