i'm on mojave 10.14.6. on a late 2013 imac. i have the nvidia geforce gt 755m 1gb graphics card. i can open logic up fine. it's when i go to add a plug in or instrument, the screen glitches up. has anybody else experienced something similar to this? when i click on finder to switch screens, the graphic glitch stops, but when i put the cursor back on logic, it starts again. i haven't found any information on the net about this. i'd appreciate any help or a point in the right direction to figure it out. thanks

I have a Hackintosh with High Sierra and Catalina with a GTX 760 and I never experienced glitches like these.

Hard to tell for me what could cause this: maybe it's driver related, maybe it's related to the GPU firmware, maybe it's an App issue maybe an macOS issue. I can't tell.

If you have a spare SSD I would try creating a clean install with Catalina to test and see if the prooblem remains. Can you still change the SSD of an 2013 iMac, or is it soldered in?

it's not soldered in. i actually put the ssd in from a regular hd. i seem to have gotten it working...i found some preferences with logic and deleted them. i had deleted logic and put in 10.4.7, then it was working. so i deleted 10.4.7 and put in 10.4.8 and restarted and everything is back to "normal"

Just to say, if you rename the files (amend to 'Logic Pro X 10.4.7') then you can have many Logic versions on your system at the same time.

For any Logic user that uses the app more or less professional, I always recommend creating a folder outside the Applications folder and keep a copy of the current Logic app, renamed with the addition version number (i.e., Logic Pro X v10.4.8).

Whenever a new version comes along and you update, it will only overwrite the app in the Applications folder. You always can launch the older Logic version by double-clicking on the app in that separate folder.
Over time you keep all the legacy versions and if you run into any issues, you can always troubleshoot by comparing with an older version, in case a new bug shows up in a newer version.
