Hey, don't you guys know any software that quickly download any audio from youtube or any other sites? like a button or a keyboard shortcut to download audio?

 

There are probably more specialised programs but I just use jDownloader 2 - just copy the video link and then in the link grabber select the audio stream - usually a M4A 128kbit AAC file - and delete the rest, unless you also want to download the video streams.
You can customise the Youtube plugin in the settings, so if you wanted to get fancy you could disable everything except the audio stream and in the variant settings enable "Best audio" so only the best quality audio is grabbed.

I don't know if the sites support other formats than mp3/mp4.
JDownloader has no competition especially if you want to rip only the audio in every possible quality.

Like @sevente well said, you can ever configure it to show you only the audio options you desire, or just "better audio quality possible". I mean, it's hard to beat that.

 

A few years ago i probably would have agreed with using JDownloader but there are programs like 4k youtube to Mp3 or Free Youtube to MP3 (which is my favorite).

You can set Free Youtube to VERY high quality rips,you can download full playlist and you don't have to go through the folder deleting unnecessary files.

It's not the downloader but rather Youtube which usually only offers mp4 and Opus formats.
Any other format is usually re-compressed by the downloader, I wouldn't favor that.

Since I'm on Mac I use an extension named Downie. You can download videos with one click. It's very convenient because you can also download only the audio. Not sure if it's available for windows though

 

i have used firefox extensions and online websites for this and both work fine, but neither last long. the most successful method i have found is duckduckgoing something like "youtube online download" every time you start a new downloading session.
i can guarantee there are extensions/addons/etc for other browsers too, and i do find that those seem to last longer, but they all ceate shit results so there is no benefit from dedicating to one anyway.
duckduckgoing a new site every time seems like an annoying task, but its far easier in the long run.

Quick solution must go to online service or plugin tools, just like savefrom and ytb downloader. Last month, I used the former one - savefrom plugin for my firefox to save some audio files from YouTube videos. And when it comes to some "unable to analyze" videos, I recorded them into MP3 or WAV with my RecMaster screen recorder.

You're right and re-compression is out of the question, of course.
I didn't know lately there's barely support for mp3. But on a second thought makes sense. Since many years now most videos are uploaded in mp4 (almost always AAC/m4A) and Google/YT will try to offer its own format (VP9 video that usually comes with the free Opus).

I was outdated about the YT audio formats until I recently debated in that interesting topic here about a rare bad quality video.
