Can anyone confirm if the new( or latest) massive VST is backward compatible with the presets from older Massive version please?

how about starting with the first line of line of response, how about thinking about how that came across? so that is deserving of a dislike

don't like getting a dislike, then practice common courtesy in the way you talk to others and be civil. Should I be grateful to someone who is rude???

if he had such an issue with the question then why did he waste energy in answering it? Perhaps to be condescending ??

Mate who cares.. if you cant figure out how to use google to use the software you're using then maybe you should find a mirror because the whole bitching about "they hurt my feelings because they didnt frame the answer not to include my obvious lazyness" doesnt exsactly scream "this bloke is greatful" Dont be such a tool.

 

Older versions of Massive use a different file format for presets (.ksd) than the latest version which uses .nmsv. But Massive has a build in converter to convert old presets into the new format which can be found under "File > KSD Batch Convert…"

It would have been very easy to emulate Massive in Massive X considering NI's synths all use the same API, which is very similar to Reaktor. They could have had every single part of Massive available as a module in Massive X. I don't know why NI didn't do it. They probably want to sell new presets.

 

API has nothing to do with this, they don't share the same architecture nor is the file format same. So unless someone painstakingly recreates the original sounds in X it's a no go.

And having all of the features of the original in the new one would've made it a mess probably and added to maintenance headaches. And we all know X was released half-baked already.

You should have taken the 5 seconds instead to literally read the title of the thread. NOWHERE in the title it says anything about Massive X. Nobody asked about Massive X. The questions was specifically aimed at Massive VST.

 

AFAIK any newer version can read (or convert if the file format changed) the older version but never the other way round. Sometimes for minor versions like for example 1.51 can read 1.52 but never 1.5 can read 1.6. This is the case with NI only (all plugins).

 

and this sampler has no OSC's or what ...lol....it has reaktor engine....its NI's main successor

version 6 is more advanced synth than original Massive is. Check the manual. With the scripting language, you can probably implement some custom synthesis options on top of that.

 

Prove it.

Until anybody of you creates a complex synth patch in stock Kontakt 6 that is as easy to program as in Massive I consider Kontakt a sampler and only that.

 

sure its main purpose is as a not sampling sample player....
not like old hardware sampler which were always also a synth in most cases
but the point was the scripting softside in kontakt 6 ..
but the manual must be lying i guess
